Pamphlets asking locals to boycott the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2015 in Balaghat District of Madhya Pradesh were recovered with Police sounding high alert in the Maoist-hit areas of the District, bordering Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra. Police said the pamphlets were allegedly circulated by Maoists under the name of 'Tada Dalam' and pasted on walls in rural areas of Devarbeli, Songudda and Machhurda, under Roopjhar Police Station limits of the District.

May 22

A CPI-Maoist North Gadchiroli Divisional Committee member, identified as Guha Uike alias Dilip (38), wanted in around 200 criminal cases, was arrested from the jungle of the Songudda area in Balaghat District of Madhya Pradesh, after a brief exchange of fire with the insurgents who opened fire at a Police team. Dilip carried a reward of around INR 3.5 million including INR 1.6 million announced by the Maharashtra Police, INR 800,000 announced by the Chhattisgarh Police, and INR 300,000 announced by the Madhya Pradesh Police, MP ADG of Police (anti-Maoist operations) C B Muniraju said.

CRPF DG Prakash Mishra said in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, that the force has become more aggressive in taking on CPI-Maoist. "Earlier, Maoists used to carry out attacks in Chhattisgarh, but now it is the CRPF which attacks Maoists. It has become more aggressive and this has borne fruits," Mishra told.

August 12

Madhya Pradesh has decided to form a Special Indian Reserve Battalion, a force that can be deployed across the country for maintaining law and order and fighting Naxalism. A total of seven companies and 1,107 posts will be created in the special force.
