|
Two UPLF militants, identified
as Dingdigao Dimasa and Debajit Nunisa were shot dead by a former
DHD militant. Three UPLF cadres came to Dhansiri area to collect
money and forcefully entered the house of Nilendu Dimasa, former
cadre of DHD. The former DHD cadre confronted the UPLF cadres
and the two cadres were gunned down by him. Another UPLF cadre
managed to escape from the spot.

Assam Police want the trial of 16 militants to
be shifted from Haflong in Dima Hasao District to Silchar in Cachar
District of South Assam because of security reasons. The militants,
including 10 leaders and cadres of DHD were picked up following
various encounters with SFs in the District during the past one
year.

Ex-militants of DHD and DHD-J staged a dharna
in DC office Dima Hasao demanding implementation of MoS in a time-bound
manner, withdrawal of cases against ex-DHD and ex-DHD-J militants,
rehabilitation of all ex-DHD and ex-DHD-j militants , ex gratia
for the families of killed cadres, formation of the Barman-Hojai
Development Council as per Clause 2.8 of the MoS and completion
of NH from Lumding to Silchar and regular salaries for employees
of NCHAC.
