SFs arrested one KCP-MC cadre, Haojam Kiran Meetei (25), while conducting a search operation at Ningthoukhong Awang Khunou in Bishnupur District.

In a follow up operation at Kumbi and Saiton villages in Bishnupur District, three more cadres of the KCP-MC, Oinam Sobha Singh (55) Wahengbam Nokulchandra Singh (43) and Thongbam Umakanta Singh (39), were arrested. One CPU which is used for printing demand letters of the KCP (MC) was recovered from the possession of Thongbam Umakanta Singh.

SFs arrested a woman cadre of KCP, identified Naorem (N) Athokpam (O) Bandana Devi (42), from Khongman Zone II in Imphal East District. Two .9mm calibre pistols and 17 live rounds were recovered from her possession.

Alleging increasing crimes in the area, nearby villagers of Loitang Khunou Spinning Mill, where cadres of a militant KCP group under Suspension of Operation (SoO) have been lodged at a camp of Security Force personal, demanded shifting of the cadres from the area on January 20.

URF a conglomerate of five different factions of the KCP, 'home secretary' Ruhini Meitei categorically stated that none of its cadres were involved in any of the criminal and unlawful activities that took place at Loitang Khunou and surrounding areas in Imphal West District.

11 militant outfits of the North East have jointly given a call to boycott the Republic Day (January 26) and to observe a general strike.

In a joint statement, CorCom, an umbrella organization of Manipur-based militant groups, ULFA-I, NDFB-IKS,NLFT,KLO and HNLC have called upon the people of the region to boycott the Republic Day to fight together against the "colonial rule" of India. CorCom consists of KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK-Pro, PLA and UNLF.

The URF, a conglomerate of five different factions of the KCP, announced a statewide bandh (general strike) from 12am to 5pm of January 26. A statement issued by the 'publicity secretary' of URF, Sanajaoba Meitei said that essential services would be exempted from the purview of the bandh. URF consists of KCP-MC, KCP-Military Task Force -Sunil Meitei, KCP-Chingkei Nganba, KCP-MC-Lamyanba Khuman and KCP-KK Nganba.

Police retrieved a hand grenade from the courtyard of Dr Sachindra Laishram (40) located at Kwakeithel Makha Thokchom Leikai in Imphal .Dr Sachindra is a consultant of Shija Eye Care Foundation. Sources said a KCP-Nganba faction led by Nganba had served a demand note to the doctor to pay INR 500,000 to the militant outfit on December 16, 2013.

Republic Day celebrations in Manipur were marred by four bomb blasts amidst high security measures after CorCom of six militant outfits called for a boycott of the day, Police said. However, no one was injured in the explosions.

CorCom has claimed it's the series of bomb blast on Republic Day morning at Babupara around 8 am, Moirangkhom around 9 am, Chingmeirong around 10 am and at Singjamei Chinga Makhong around 11 am. A press statement of the CorCom said that the series of blast was carried as part of the collective call of several outfits of the "WESEA region against the Republic Day celebration on January 26.

Police arrested a KCP militant, T.L.Omita Devi, from Katahbari area of Guwahati in Kamrup (metro) District.

Two cadres belonging to KCP-Lamyanba Khuman identified as Phijam Robi and Tensubam Hoyna alias Pari alias Shantikumar were arrested by a combined team of Imphal East Commando and the 40 Assam Rifle along with one Chinese Hand Grenade, two Magazine of 9mm Pistol and 15 live rounds from an unspecified location.

The tripartite agreement signed between three valley based militant outfits, the State Government and the Government of India has completed one year. During this one year, leaders and cadres of the outfits experienced many trials and tribulations, said a joint press release issued by Taibanganba of KCP-MC, Athouba KYKL-MDF and Lanheiba Meitei of URF.

Manipur Governor VK Duggal, in his first ever address in the Manipur Legislative Assembly, on February 24, said his Government is taking steps to make Manipur a peaceful and prosperous State with all the communities living harmoniously. He said Manipur has been affected by insurgent activities spread over a period of over four decades where more than 60 militant outfits, including factions, are operating. Insurgency has adversely affected development, he said.

Remaining fourteen cadres of Nongdrenkhomba group of KCP-MC surrendered to Assam Rifles with arms and ammunition before Manipur Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam. The cadres belonged to the fighting group of the faction who had not taken part in the en-masse surrender of cadres of the group on the day of signing the MoU on September 9, 2013.

Secretary home affairs' of URF Puyam Ruhini, a representative of three armed groups that entered into a truce with the government, claimed to be facing threat from the armed CorCom (six valley based militant outfits) conglomerate apart from enduring continuous 'harassment' from security personnel. 'Puyam Ruhini who claimed to be the spokesperson of KCP-Taibangnganba, Athouba group of KYKL-MDF and URF said that the CorCom had not only threatened to attack cadres of peace deal signatory groups but also eliminate top leaders of the outfits.

One cadre of KCP-Noyon, identified as one Chesam Muhammad Abdul Rashid was arrested along with one Chinese hand grenade during a search operation conducted by Thoubal Police Commandos at Sangaiyumpham in Thoubal District on March 26. He was reportedly involved in carrying out a grenade attack at the Sangaiyumpham Puleipokpi residence of SangaiyumphamGram Panchayat (village level locals self Government) Member Muhammad Ramizuddin in the intervening night of March 23 and 24.

MHA has identified the entire state of Manipur and lower Assam region of Assam as the two areas in the northeast where the coming Lok Sabha election may be disrupted by militant outfits. While Meitei militant outfits under CorCom may create trouble in Manipur, it is the NDFB-IKS, which is being increasingly perceived as a threat in the lower Assam region. A source said all Meitei militant outfits in Manipur are being closely monitored as intelligence inputs have suggested that they would attempt to trigger violence before, and on, the day of polling.

Troops of Red Shield Division arrested two cadres of different militant groups. In the first operation, troops of Red Shield Division carried out a search operation in the area of Lairensajik in Imphal west District and arrested 'finance secretary' of KCP, identified as Ningthoujam Ramananda Singh and recovered one 9mm pistol US made along with one magazine, one 9mm live round and five live rounds of .38 revolver. Another operation was launched in the area of Mayang Langjing which resulted in the arrest of Phijam Rupachandra Meitei of KCP-MTF, from Mayang Langjing in Imphal West District.

KCP-MC, KCP-Lallumba KCP-Lamphel cadres have threatened to take up arms if the Government fails to fulfil the commitments made while signing the MOU.

'Commander-in-chief' of KCP-MC , Ningthoujam Nongdrenkhomba alias Romen exercised his franchise right at 29/12 Kumbi (C) polling station opened at Kumbi Government Girls Primary School.

A cadre of KCP-MC was arrested from Bishnupur Bazaar in Bisnupur District. One Chinese hand grenade and a mobile phone were recovered from his possession.

Five inmates of a Government run children home were arrested by a Police team on the charge of being activists of a militant group. A hand grenade and mobile phones were seized from the minors between the age of 11 to 14.It has been alleged that they are activists of KCP-NOYON.

KCP-N cadre, identified as Ngangbam Sharat alias Somo was arrested One mobile phone handset and 200 gms of explosive material were seized from his possession.Based on disclosure of Sharat cadre of the same outfit, identified as Angom Aken alias German alias Chingkhei(24) was also arrested.

n further follow up action, a third cadre of the same outfit identified as Wahengbam John alias Thoi (24) was arrested.

Following the allegations regarding the alleged killing of two cadres of URF inside the URF designated camp and reportedly they were later buried inside the camp located at the 9th Dogra Regiment D-Coy Loitang Khunou (Spinning Mill) in North Imphal, a search operation was conducted for the dead bodies by a team of police. However, during the search operation, the Police and forensic expert team didn't recover anything. It may be recalled here that on March 19, 2014, a complaint was lodged at Sekmai police station by the URF regarding the missing of the two URF cadres. The two URF cadres who reportedly went missing on March 18 were identified as Irengbam Bode alias Washington and Pukhrambam Somorjit.

Cadres of KCP-MC, which is a signatory of SoO has left their temporary camp in Imphal West after a Police raid. This was a part of an investigation for the missing two cadres of the group who were allegedly killed inside the camp during the last Yaoshang (Holi) festival.

An armed cadre of KCP-MC, identified as Khwairakpam Khogendro alias Amujao alias Washington Singh was arrested along with one 9mm Pistol, one magazine and three 9mm live rounds.

KCP-MDF identified as Nandeibam Meghachandra alias Loya was arrested from his residence and a Chinese hand grenade was recovered from him.

Two militants belonging to KCP- Lamyanba Khuman identified as Laishram Raju and his wife Laishram Patti Devi were arrested from Lamlai Bazaar in Bishnupur District.

KCP cadre identified as Kangabam Rohit Singh was arrested at Tengnoupal in Chandel District. A .9mm Pistol with a magazine and four live rounds were recovered from him.

SFs arrested a KCP cadre, identified as Irom khongnem Meitei alias Burma

KCP militant was arrested by Imphal West District Police Commandos from Keishampat Junction area. Identifying the arrested man as Rajkumar Nanao alias Tukao Singh, Police said that he was involved in hurling of hand grenade recently and also served demand letters to Government officials for raising the outfit's fund. One mobile phone handset was seized from his possession.

KCP-MC militant, identified as Oinam Kuladaja alias Tangba Singh was arrested at Moirang College Gate, Moirang. One mobile handset with SIM card was recovered from his possession.

Nambol/ Bishnupur

KCP-MTF militant, WahengbamI naocha Singh was arrested from Nambol Khathong in Bishnupur District and in a follow up operation another cadre of KCP-MTF faction, Khundrakpam Hemanta Singh alias Ahingchamba was also arrested from Nambol.

Khurai/ Imphal East

Irom Khumanthem Ibecha Devi alias Abe alias Meiteingambi of KCP- KK Nganba faction was arrested by SFs from Khurai in Imphal East District. One mobile handset and two SIM cards were recovered. On follow up action, one 9mm pistol along with four rounds in the magazine and one Chinese hand grenade were recovered from Sawombung Bazar in Imphal East District.

The KCP-MC claimed responsibility for planting grenades at the residence of one person, Moirangthem Gayenta at Sangaiprou Mamang Leikai in Imphal East District on June 4.

KCP- KK Nganba faction 'finance secretary' Rocky alias Greatmacha alias Ranjit alias Chaoba who was arrested from Patna on June 3 has been brought back to Imphal by State Police.

SFs arrested Elangbam Hemanta Singh alias Lakpa of KCP-N from gate of Imphal College in Imphal West.

KCP-MC militant Tullachandra alias Tomal was arrested from Imphal West. A mobile handset, a hand grenade and demand letters bearing the insignia of KCP-MC were recovered from him. In a follow up action his wife Khuraijam Sushma Luitel Sharma was arrested from the Imphal West District. A mobile phone was recovered from her.

SFs arrested a militant belonging to KCP-MTF, identified as Sanabam Meitei alias Ibung during a search operation at Thoubal Village in Bishnupur District. He was involved in serving demand letters to the contractors and Government employees on Bishnupur Bazar area.

SFs arrested KCP-KK militant identified as Laithangbam Ibomcha alias Imocha from Thoubal Haokha in Thoubal District.

SFs arrested KCP-MTF militant, identified as Brahmacharimayum Herojit from Nambol area in Bishnupur District. He was involved in extortion of money from general public and shopkeepers of Nambol area.

SFs arrested KCP-Lamyanba Khuman militant, Loushambam Anilkumar Singh alias Arun alias Pari. One mobile and SIM card was recovered from him.

A bus driver identified as Thokchom Ingobi was abducted by suspected militants of KCP-MC from Jakhlabandha in Nagaon District. Non-payment of the 'annual tax' by the bus owner may be the reason for abduction.

SFs arrested a militant, Romeo alias Jackson alias Kanba alias Rosanb Rongmei of KCP- Nando and in a follow up action militant identified as Aureng Shi Soprang of KCP-Nando was arrested from Loukhong Village in Imphal East District.

SFs arrested 'chairman' of KCP-KK Nganba faction identified as Chongtham Manglemjao alias KK Nganba from Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak in Imphal West District on June 15 He was arrested after a follow up action when militant, identified as NaoremIbomcha Singh of KCP-KK was arrested on June 14 from Moirang Bazar area in Bishnupur District. Following his revelation Bishnupur District Police Commandos arrested two more KCP-KK Nganba militants, identified as 'captain' Aheibam Dijen Singh alias Ahanmacha and ChongthamI bomcha Singh from RIMS Road Imphal West District.

AMNSDWA staged a sit in protest at North AOC Guwahati and Dimapur booking counter in Imphal demanding safe release of Thokchomg Ingobi who was kidnapped by Langamba Khuman faction of KCP-MC.

Nambol Chingmang / Bishnupur

Two URF militants Khoisnam Pukhrambam Bidhu Devi and Pukhrambam Sorokhaibam Anupama Devi alias Abe were arrested by Bishnupur Commandos and women Police from Nambol Chingmang area in Bishnupur District.

URF stated that Khoishnam Ongbi Bidhu and her daughter Sorokhaibam Ongbi Anupama alias Abe, who were arrested on June 21 from Nambol Chingmang area in Bishnupur District were not related to the militant outfit URF 'information and publicity secretary' Sanajaoba Meitei stated that Anupama and her husband Sorokhaibam Romichandra alias Chinglen were a deserter from the outfit.

Imphal West

A lathode bomb, wrapped in a paper was recovered at the Emo petrol pump in Imphal West District. The name KCP-N was left behind by the individuals who planted the bomb.

Maitram/ Bishnupur

SFs arrested two militants, identified as Naorem Suraj Singh and Oinam Siton Singh of KCP from Maitram village in Bishnupur District.

Kongba/ Imphal East

URF militants identified as Huidrom Shantikuma and Chingakham Sur Singh were arrested by a combined team of SFs from Kongba area in front of Meitei Mayek High School in Imphal East District. Two 9mm pistols with 11 live rounds were seized from them.

A militant, identified as Thokchom Robindro of KCP-MC was arrested from Khoijuman Bazar in Bishnupur District. He was involved in extortion of money in Bishnupur and Moirang areas.

CorCom stated that people of Manipur and WESEA would soon see a new face of the ongoing revolutionary movement with its JFF determined to step up its armed campaign against the Indian military under the command of JMC.

A militant, Moirangthem Gandhi, was arrested by SFs from Sekmai Keithel in Imphal West District in connection with grenade attack on the residence of Dineshkumar Leichombam at Uripok in Imphal West District.

KCP stated that Moirangthem Gandhi was not a member of KCP or its armed wing MFL.

An extortionist identified as Oinam Rishikesh was apprehended by the residents of Kwakeithel Mayaikoibi in Imphal West District. A demand letter of URF signed by 'finance secretary' Parikaba and 'president' Yaisana and cash were recovered from him.

The staff of NIEIT staged a sit-in-protest at its Akampat campus Imphal West District, urging to revoke the monetary demands served by URF.

SFs arrested Soibam Rakesh Singh of KCP-MC from Leimapokpam Khunpham Makha Leikai in Bishnupur District. On a follow up action KCP-MC militant Chanambam Puranjoy Singh who lobbed a grenade at NIT director residence on April 6 was arrested.

URF declared that it has no connection with monetary demand made to NIEIT Imphal Centre.

KCP-MTF militant Ramesh Singh alias James was arrested by SFs from Pallel in Thoubal District.

KCP-MC celebrated 7th raising day at designated camp of Moirang Khunou, Bishnupur District. KYKL-MDF 'chairman' Athouba Meitei, KCP-MC 'commander-in-chief' Nongdrenkhomba Meitei and URF 'home secretary' Puyam Ruhinikumar attended the function.

KCP-URF militants Laipubam Sheityadev Sharma alias Inao and Sharungbam Chandrakumar Singh alias Taton were arrested near Kiyamba Shanglen in Bishnupur District.

KCP-MC has called for a 12 hours public curfew on the August 15 Independence Day. A press handout signed by its Secretary, Information & Publicity Paikhomba Meitei said the day marks the transfer of colonial hegemony.

URF 'chairman' Lanheiba Meitei stated that that its cadres have been instructed to be vigilant against any instigation and stated that picking up arms once again has been necessitated in order to defend one's own rights.

Kakching Wairi Khunyai/ Thoubal

SFs arrested a 'lance corporal' of KCP Ningombam Bijen Singh alias Nongyai, during a frisking and checking operation conducted at Kakching Wairi Khunyai area in Thoubal. On his disclosure a 7.65 mm pistol with two live rounds were seized from his house in an undisclosed location.

Loitang Khunou/Imphal West

'chairman' Lanheiba alias Gopendro Mangang of URF had left the designated camp which was a Spinning Mill at Loitang Khunou in Imphal West. Around 90 cadres who have left the designated one by one before September 20 have also not returned to the designated camp.

URF asked the Government to return the weaponry that were handed over to the administration as part of the process of entering the peace talks. They also threatened that until the fulfilment of its demand it will start striking the State Government and Congress workers.

One KCP-MTF militant was arrested in month of September.

On occasion of PREPAK 37 rising day, PREPAK 'chairman' Nongdrenkhomba greeted the party members of CorCom.

Tribal People Organisation strongly reacted to the proposed 18 hours general strike by CorCom.It stated that Senapati, Churachanpur, Chandel, Ukhrul and Tamenglong do not come within the purview of the strike.

State Police commandos conducted a search operation at Leimapokpam Village in Bishnupur District and arrested the acting 'chairman' of KCP-MTF, identified as Yumnan Shantikumar Singh alias Kiran alias Raja.

A team of commandos conducted search operation at Waheng Khuman Village in Bishnupur District and arrested an active member of KCP-MTF, identified as Oinam Gobind Singh alias Poirei along with one 9mm pistol loaded with 2 live rounds.

During a counter insurgency operation, a team of Imphal West District Police commando unit arrested three cadres of URF, a breakaway group of KCP, identified as Salam Keshorjit Meitei alias Manja, Khundrakpam Biren Meitei alias Manao and Wangkhem Shyamkanhai Singh alias Wareppa.

When attending the 'homecoming ceremony' of the K. K. Nganba faction of KCP, CM Okram Ibobi Singh stated that "The state government has withdrawn AFSPA, from seven Assembly constituencies of Imphal. We want to withdraw the act from more areas. However, such bomb blasts [referring to the IED explosion] will hamper the effort." The KCP-Nganba signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for peace talks with the State Government at the function on December 15. Nganba came with 35 cadres, including three girls, and 31 weapons.

Twenty militants of KCP -MC action also joined the peace process by turning up for the 'homecoming ceremony'. Nongdrenkhomba, 'commander-in-chief' of the outfit, sought autonomy for the state and repeal of the AFSPA among the 10 demands raised by the outfit at the ceremony. The other demands include: autonomy for Manipur like Jammu and Kashmir constitutional safeguard for the protection of territorial integrity repeal of army act enforcement of inner line permit uniform land law for both hills and plains for equal development establishment of medium industries establishment of Manipur regimen employment facilities for all the members for their livelihood separate squad of KCP (MC) for violence against women and children in Manipur and an anti-corruption squad to be set up by the government. Nongdrenkhomba, who has brought 20 more cadres to join the peace process, said, "We will talk until we get our 10 demands fulfilled. We have not yet taken any help from the government and we decided to talk peace and not to take benefits for the comrades." The outfit is at present at the designated camp at Moirang Khunou in Bishnupur District.

Police arrested a URF militant Khangembam Sanjoy Singh alias Athoi alias Pamei alias Amumba from near Lamshang Commando Post in Imphal West, who was involved in the balst. ne Glock-26 9 mm pistol loaded with five live rounds in the magazine was recovered from the house of RK Irabot Singh on Sanjoy's disclosure.

In a follow up action , a combined team of Imphal West District Police commandos, Senapati District Police and AR raided ouse of one Stephen at Kalianjang village near Taphou Kuki village in Senapati District and after a brief encounter, arrested another URF militant identified as 'lieutenant' Kamei Badal alias Bravo with some incriminating articles.

Police stated that blast on December 15 which killed two people was carried out under the instruction and command of Lalheiba Meitei of URF.

A joint team of Indian Army and AR arrested a militant of KCP-MTF identified as Taorem Hero Singh, from Leirambam in Bishnupur. One 9mm pistol along with a live round was recovered from his possession

Imphal West Police Commandos raided Kuki Taphou and Onaeme Taphou villages, and arrested a KCP militant who was suspected to be the involved in a recent abduction incident in Imphal

OGW of KCP, identified as Anand was arrested from area of Shekmaijin Khunao in Thoubal

AR along with Imphal East District Police commandos launched a joint operation at Chingningko in Imphal East District and arrested a KCP militant identified as Kangujam Khoiraba Singh.

SFs launched an operation and apprehended one Noyon faction of KCP-Noyon cadre, identified as Sagolsem Lolindro Singh alias Mantri alias Govind (43), at Khabeisoi in Imphal East District.

SFs arrested a KCP-L, 'Lance Corporal Amar alias Nao, who was posing as auto rickshaw driver.

SFs arrested a KCP-L militant, 'Lance Corporal' Inao alias Loya and recovered one 9 mm pistol with five rounds from Phayang in Imphal West District.
