11 militant outfits of the North
East have jointly given a call to boycott the Republic Day (January
26) and to observe a general strike.
In a joint statement, CorCom,
an umbrella organization of Manipur-based militant groups, ULFA-I,
NDFB-IKS,NLFT,KLO and HNLC have called upon the people of the
region to boycott the Republic Day to fight together against
the "colonial rule" of India. CorCom consists of KCP, KYKL,
PREPAK, PREPAK-Pro, PLA and UNLF.

Republic Day celebrations in Manipur
were marred by four bomb blasts amidst high security measures
after CorCom of six militant outfits called for a boycott of the
day, Police said. However, no one was injured in the explosions.
CorCom has claimed it's the series
of bomb blast on Republic Day morning at Babupara around 8 am,
Moirangkhom around 9 am, Chingmeirong around 10 am and at Singjamei
Chinga Makhong around 11 am. A press statement of the CorCom said
that the series of blast was carried as part of the collective
call of several outfits of the "WESEA region against the Republic
Day celebration on January 26.

and injured three others near Nambasi village under Chasad Police
Station in Ukhrul District. The personnel were on a road opening
patrol in the mountains when the militants detonated a powerful

five Manipur based PLA cadres and recovered a large cache of arms
and ammunition from their possession from Pongchau area in Longding
District. The arrested militants were identified as Pongsiba Dingam,

SFs also recovered two AK M-22 rifles, two AM-T81, one 3G81 LMG

The BSF handed over to the BGB
a list of 66 terror camps in Bangladesh of militants operating
in India's Northeast. Camps of HNLC, ULFA, NDFB, PLA and a few
other groups were operating in districts like Mymensingh, Maulvibazar
and Rangamati. IG BSF Sudhir Kumar Srivastava said, "The number
of these camps has decreased." Some of the camps had now been
shifted towards Myanmar due to pressure from Bangladesh authorities.

The RPF, the political body of
PLA has claimed that the Kambang Khullen (Chandel District) ambush
of March 11 in which two SFs were killed was carried out by a
group of PLA cadres drawn from its different units, stations and
departments. RPF has also congratulated CPI-Maoist for their successful
strike against SFs in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on March
11. Saying that RPF and CPI-Maoists are strategic partners, the

Barua has expressed his gratitude to NSCN-K, CorCom of Manipur,
KLO, NDFB and other "brotherly organizations" for their cooperation

for creation of an umbrella organisation in Taga of Sagaing division
in north-western Myanmar on March 20. The meeting is likely to
be convened by NSCN-K 'chairman' S.S. Khaplang, an influential
leader in parts of northern Myanmar. However, it is going to be
ULFA-I 'commander-in-chief' Paresh Baruah who will be the main

The Court has asked for the release of the PLA cadre as he has
no other cases against him. IPS officer Miss Vandana Malik was

MHA has identified the entire
state of Manipur and lower Assam region of Assam as the two areas
in the northeast where the coming Lok Sabha election may
be disrupted by militant outfits. While Meitei militant outfits
under CorCom may create trouble in Manipur, it is the NDFB-IKS,
which is being increasingly perceived as a threat in the lower
Assam region. A source said all Meitei militant outfits in Manipur
are being closely monitored as intelligence inputs have suggested

9mm pistol and four live rounds. Based on information from the
