SFs arrested one PREPAK militant, 'Chapel' Kamjam Milan Singh alias Somendro (21), in Wangjing Bazar area. One .32 pistol with three live rounds was recovered from the possession of the arrested militant.

SFs arrested one PREPAK Over Ground Worker, as Huidrom Deban alias Yambung (45), at Upokpi area of Imphal West District.

11 militant outfits of the North East have jointly given a call to boycott the Republic Day (January 26) and to observe a general strike.

In a joint statement, CorCom, an umbrella organization of Manipur-based militant groups, ULFA-I, NDFB-IKS,NLFT,KLO and HNLC have called upon the people of the region to boycott the Republic Day to fight together against the "colonial rule" of India. CorCom consists of KCP, KYKL, PREPAK, PREPAK-Pro, PLA and UNLF.

Republic Day celebrations in Manipur were marred by four bomb blasts amidst high security measures after CorCom of six militant outfits called for a boycott of the day, Police said. However, no one was injured in the explosions.

CorCom has claimed it's the series of bomb blast on Republic Day morning at Babupara around 8 am, Moirangkhom around 9 am, Chingmeirong around 10 am and at Singjamei Chinga Makhong around 11 am. A press statement of the CorCom said that the series of blast was carried as part of the collective call of several outfits of the "WESEA region against the Republic Day celebration on January 26.

Imphal East

SFs arrested one cadre of PREPAK, identified as Yumnam Premanda and a former cadre of PLA, L. Basanta alias Akash , along with one 9mm pistol and five live rounds. Premanda was arrested from his residence in Kongba Uchekon Khonuo and Basanta arrested from Keirao Lairembi Leirak from his residence in Imphal East District.

Imphal East

Imphal East District Police Commandos arrested a cadre of PREPAK, identified as Haorungbam Rishijen alias Lakpati alias Khagemba Meetei along with a 9mm pistol and a magazine containing three live rounds from his residence at Lilong Chajing in Imphal East District.

Four over ground workers of the PREPAK were arrested by a team of the Imphal east police commandos along with two 9mm pistols and five live rounds, one .38 pistol with nine live rounds and three mobile phones from their respective residences.

The troops of 30 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector AR under the aegis of IGAR (South) launched an operation at Pangai and apprehended one PREPAK. The apprehendee was identified as Konjengbam Narendra alias Dumba,

Five militants of three different militant formations surrendered to BSF along with arms and ammunition in Bishnupur District. Out of the five surrendered militants, three belonged to UNLF and one each to RPF and PREPAK.

Guwahati / Assam

SFs arrested a militant of Manipur based PREPAK, Leishungbam Bheigyachandra Singh (35), from Saokuchi, under Garchuck Police Station in Guwahati in Kamrup (Metro) District.

SLR ammunition and radio set were recovered from a residential compound of Elangbam Shyamsunder in Imphal East District during a search operation conducted by Imphal East District Police and Thoubal District Police at Hiyanglam Mayai Leikai in the morning of February 24. Moreover two over ground workers of PREPAK identified as Elangbam Shyamsunder and Mayanglambam Sobha of the same locality have also been arrested.

Manipur Governor VK Duggal, in his first ever address in the Manipur Legislative Assembly, on February 24, said his Government is taking steps to make Manipur a peaceful and prosperous State with all the communities living harmoniously. He said Manipur has been affected by insurgent activities spread over a period of over four decades where more than 60 militant outfits, including factions, are operating. Insurgency has adversely affected development, he said.

A cadre of PREPAK-Pro cadre, identified as Leishungbam Bheigyachandra alias LB Singh alias Bheigyo alias Aries alias Inao, who was arrested by a combined team of Imphal East District Police and Guwahati City Police from a rented room of Lokha, Guwahati (Assam) on February 23 was brought to Imphal. It is said that Bheigyachandra took key roles in the party's fund collection.

According to a Police source, Imphal East commandos arrested two cadres of PREPAK-Pro, identified as Khaidem Joy alias and Moirangthem Budha along with one demand letter from JNIMS main entrance gate. The source further said that the same team of Imphal East District.

ULFA-I 'commander in chief' Paresh Barua has expressed his gratitude to NSCN-K, CorCom of Manipur, KLO, NDFB and other "brotherly organizations" for their cooperation and help extended to the ULFA over the years.On the occasion of its 'army day,' (March 16) the ULFA 'commander-in-chief' has called upon senior leaders of the outfit "not to encourage in negative thinking and instead try to boost the morale of the cadres who are fighting the enemy valiantly in the field."

Secretary home affairs' of URF Puyam Ruhini, a representative of three armed groups that entered into a truce with the government, claimed to be facing threat from the armed CorCom (six valley based militant outfits) conglomerate apart from enduring continuous 'harassment' from security personnel. 'Puyam Ruhini who claimed to be the spokesperson of KCP-Taibangnganba, Athouba group of KYKL-MDF and URF said that the CorCom had not only threatened to attack cadres of peace deal signatory groups but also eliminate top leaders of the outfits.

One cadre of KCP-Noyon, identified as one Chesam Muhammad Abdul Rashid was arrested along with one Chinese hand grenade during a search operation conducted by Thoubal Police Commandos at Sangaiyumpham in Thoubal District on March 26. He was reportedly involved in carrying out a grenade attack at the Sangaiyumpham Puleipokpi residence of SangaiyumphamGram Panchayat (village level locals self Government) Member Muhammad Ramizuddin in the intervening night of March 23 and 24.

MHA has identified the entire state of Manipur and lower Assam region of Assam as the two areas in the northeast where the coming Lok Sabha election may be disrupted by militant outfits. While Meitei militant outfits under CorCom may create trouble in Manipur, it is the NDFB-IKS, which is being increasingly perceived as a threat in the lower Assam region. A source said all Meitei militant outfits in Manipur are being closely monitored as intelligence inputs have suggested that they would attempt to trigger violence before, and on, the day of polling.

PREPAK has greeted all the people of Kangleipak (Manipur) as well as Manipuri people settled outside Kangleipak on the occasion of Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba (the New Year of the Manipuris who follows indigenous Sanamahi religion).

Bishnupur Police commandos arrested a militant of PREPAK, identified as Ayekpam Loijingamba Singh alias Ibomcha alias Itao while conducting a search in Langjing area in Bishnupur District.

SFs arrested a PREPAK cadre identified as 'Captain' Sorokhaibam Raja alias Maramba from Kakching Bazar in Bishnupur District. A .39 pistol loaded with five bullets was recovered from his possession.

Thoubal District Police arrested two members of PREPAK Sapam Bishorjit alias Naoba, 25 and Thokchom Moirangmayum Jati alias Roma Devi, 39 from Lilong Kaleikhong area under Lilong Police Station

Troops of 9 AR launched an operation in H.Mongjang village in Tengnoupal Sub Division of Chandel District and arrested six cadres Two lathode guns with 15 live rounds, one M-16 Rifle with magazine and 10 live rounds, two AK-56 rifles with magazines and 144 live rounds were recovered from their possession.

In a follow up operation, after the interrogation of the militant, one more PREPAK militant, identified as T Dhana Singh was arrested from Saijang Maning Leikai.

A combined team of Thoubal District Police Commandos and 2 AR arrested a militant belonging to PREPAK-PRO identified as Longjam Sanjit Singh from Tata Magic Parking of Yairipok Bazaar in Thoubal Disrict. Mobile phone handset with SIM card was seized from his possession.

Bishnupur District Police Commandos arrested a militant identified as Naocha alias Tombason from Utlou Chanura Bazar in Bishnupur District. In a follow up operation, a woman cadre, identified as Oinam Kunjarani was arrested from Bishnupur Bazar area on the same date. Both militants belong to PREPAK-PRO.

PREPAK cadre, identified as Mohammed Wahidur Rahaman alias Alam was arrested during a search operation from Pallel Bazaar in Chandel District. A mobile Phone was recovered from him.

PREPAK-PRO stated that the outfit does not have any connection with Longjam Sanjit Singh who was arrested along with a mobile handset and a SIM card from Yairipok Bazar in Thoubal District on May 8.

Lamsang Bazar/ Imphal West

PREPAK militant, identified as Kshetrimayum Somananda Meitei involved in extortion and transportation of arms and ammunition was arrested from Lamsang Bazar in Imphal West.

Pallel Bazar/Thoubal

PREPAK-Pro militant Johny Meitei was arrested from Pallel Bazar in Thoubal District along with INR 2, 01,590. Two mobile handsets were also recovered. In a follow up operation, another cadre of the same outfit, identified as Sapam Robindro alias Nanao was also arrested. Both the militants were involved in extorting money from contractors at Imphal for their party fund.

PREPAK-Pro has refuted any connection with Sapam Robindro alias Sarangthem and Johny Meitei, who was arrested on May 29 with INR 2,01,590 and two mobile phones at Pallel in Thoubal District.

BishnupurBazar and Wangoo Sabal Mamang Leikai / Bishnupur

A militant identified as Ngangom Pavin Singh alias Naocha of PREPAK-Pro was arrested in Bishnupur Bazar area. A mobile was recovered from him. In a follow up operation PREPAK-Pro militant Nongmaithem Tomba Singh alias Tayai was arrested and a9mm pistol with magazine and a mobile phone was recovered .

Khabi and Nambol Phoijing / Bishnupur

SFs conducted search operation at Khabi Village in Bishnupur District and arrested one PREPAK-Pro militant Keithellakpam Nanao Singh alias Roshini and on his disclosure 'sergeant major' KhDhiren Singh alias Thakaba of the same outfit was arrested from Nambol Phoijing in Bishnupur District.

Yairipok Lamkhai/ Thoubal

PREPAK-Pro militant Phurailatpam Sunil Sharma alias Ibohal was arrested by SFs from Yairipok Lamkhai in Thoubal District. He had recruited two youths from Thoubal Tomjing Makhong and sends them to PREPAK-Pro cadres at Namphalong in Myanmar.

PREPAK-Pro refuted any connection with two men, Ngangom Prabin alias Naocha, Keithelakpam Nanao alias Rosini and Nongmaithem Tomba alias Tayai who were arrested from Bishnupur on June 1.

PREPAK cadre Warekpam Birjit Singh was arrested from Moreh in Chandel District.

PREPAK cadre identified as Paonam Suresh Singh was arrested from near Canchipur Meitei Lamkhai Road in Imphal West District by SFs. One mobile handset was seized from his possession.

A combined team of Thoubal District Police and Imphal West District Police Commandos arrested woman cadre of PREPAK, identified as Ningthoujam Wahengbam Promodini alias Ritu alias Maya alias Inunganbi from Pallel area of Chandel District. Two mobile phone handsets along with two SIM cards were also seized from her possession.

SFs arrested two militants identified as Arambam alias Thoi alias Radha Devi and Ningthoujam Wangkhem Chaoba alias Asharani Devi of PREPAK.

Two PREPAK militants identified as Langpoklakpam Dhananjoy Singh and Sapam Gunamani alias Guna alias Kakani from Salungpham Kang Thokchao Mayai Leikai in Thoubal District. On Langpoklakpam Dhananjoy Singh's disclosure one Chinese hand grenade and two lathod shells were recovered from his house near Phumlou Mamang Leikai in Imphal West District.

Bishnupur District Police Commandos arrested woman cadre of PREPAK-pro identified as Chanambam Premila Devi alias Memicha from Nambol Naorem Mayai Leikai in Bishnupur District.

SFs arrested a PREPAK-pro militant identified as identified as Waikhom Kuber Singh from Wangjing bazar area in Thoubal District. PREPAK-pro later stated that the arrested individual has no connection with the organisation.

Two bail out militants Thokchom Janeldro alias Janel and NingthoujamInaocha alias Ereikhomba were arrested at Heirok in Thoubal District.

PREPAK militant lance corporal' Saikhom Maipak Singh alias Amuba was from Pangaltabi Chingkha village in Thoubal. One 9mm pistol along with magazine and two live rounds were recovered from him.

A PREPAK militant identified as Thokchom Okendro alias Oken Singh was arrested by SFs from Tentha Lamkhai in Thoubal District. Incriminating articles along with INR 100,000 were recovered from him. Investigation revealed that he extorted the said money from contractors and he had also extorted about INR 36,000 from a college located at Wangjing in Thoubal District.

The house of Laishram Langlen, who allegedly recruited youngsters for PREPAK was set ablaze by locals at Heirok Part II in Laimayum Leikai in Thoubal. According to reports, Langlen and her mother allegedly recruited a 15 year old girl from Wangjing in Chaoyang District into PREPAK.

CorCom condemned the proposed visit of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Manipur and declared a 24-hour 'curfew' from the midnight of November 30.

In a statement signed by Leibak Ngakpa Luwang, 'assistant secretary Publicity and Propaganda', stated that PREPAK 'chairman' Ningombam Nabachandra alias Naba alias Nongdrenkhomba and 'finance secretary' Potsangbam Chinglen alias London fled from PREPAK camp with INR 24 million, on November 19. It also stated that both of them have taken shelter under the State SF.
