Police in the Federal Capital
Islamabad foiled a terrorist attack that aimed to the strike Pakistan
Day parade on 23 March. Police sources said that two suspected
terrorists were arrested during recent raids and confessed to
planning an attack. The terrorists were arrested from Ghouri Town
in connection with the attack on the Qasar-e-Sakina Imambargah
which occurred on February 19. Sources said the arrested terrorists
confessed to planning an attack during their interrogation. A
large cache of weapons was also seized from their possession.

was an employee at the United States Embassy in Islamabad was
shot dead by unidentified armed assailants in G-9/1 area of Islamabad.

Islamabad Police arrested four target killers,
who the officials say, are affiliated with a Karachi-based political
party. The Police said, the arrested men have confessed to killing
people, carrying-out dacoities in Islamabad and Karachi. They
said the alleged target killers were involved in target killings
in various areas of Karachi including Korangi and used to submit
money collected from extortion and robberies to a political party's
head office in Karachi.
