A Shia Special Security Unit (SSU) commando, identified as Zahid Jaffri (31), who had been doing security duty, at the State Guest House was shot dead in the Kareemabad area of Gulberg Town in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh.

Unidentified militants killed two people, including Shia religious scholar and rights activist Syed Khurram Zaki and his journalist friend Rao Khalid, in a sectarian attack in North Karachi Town of Karachi. A passer-by, identified as Aslam, sustained injuries in the attack. Both the victims belonged to the Shia community. TTP-Hakeemullah faction, claimed responsibility for the attack.

Four members of the Tablighi Jama'at (TJ) were shot at and wounded in a sectarian attack while they were preaching in Block-17 of F. B Area in Gulberg Town of Karachi

A member of the Jama'at Ahmadiyya, identified as Dawood Ahmad (55), was shot dead in a targeted attack while he was sitting outside his home in Metroville-Block II area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh.

Two Shias, identified as Malik Asim and Ameer Haider, were killed and another, identified as Hasan, sustained injured when unidentified armed assailants opened fire at them in Jaffar Tayyar Society of Malir Town in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh.

Abul Hasan Isphani / Sikander Goth / Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town / Karachi

A homeopathic Ahmadi doctor, identified as Dr Chaudhry Abdul Khaleeq (50), was shot dead in his clinic in the Abul Hasan Isphani area of Sikander Goth in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town of Karachi.

Two cadres of ASWJ, identified as Mufti Kamran (46), and Mufti Ghulam Akbar (50), were killed when unidentified militants opened fire at them inside the Medina Masjid in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town of Karachi.

A Shia, identified as identified as Qasim Abbas Raza (34), was shot dead in targeted killing incident near the Sughra Imambargah in Korangi Town of Karachi.

A trader, belonging to the Bohra community, identified as Hakim Feroz, was shot dead while another was injured when unidentified militants opened fire at them in a targeted sectarian attack in North Nazimabad Town of Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh.

Khanpur / Shikarpur District

At least 13 persons, including five Policemen, were injured as Police foiled two separate suicide blasts during Eid prayers in Khanpur tehsil of Shikarpur District in Sindh.

Block-8 / Gulistan-e-Jauhar / Karachi / Sindh

A trustee of an Imambargah and a senior office-bearer of private schools association, Mansoor Zaidi, was shot dead while his son was critically injured in a suspected sectarian attack by unidentified assailants outside their home in Block-8 area of Gulistan-e-Jauhar area in Karachi.

Shafiq Mor / North Karachi

Three persons, who appeared to be 'religious scholars', were shot dead in the Shafiq Mor area of North Karachi.

Jamshed Town / Karachi

Two persons were shot dead near Fatima Bai Hospital in Patel Para area under Jamshed Quarters Police Station in Jamshed Town. An ASWJ spokesman claimed that all the five victims were associated with their group.

North Nazimabad / Karachi

A prayer leader, Shafiq Rehman (30), was shot dead in North Nazimabad area in Karachi of Sindh. Shafiq Rehman was feeding pigeons in Block-H of North Nazimabad when armed pillion riders attacked him, said Hyderi Market, SHO, Zulfiqar Haider.

Block 4 / Gulistan-e-Jauhar / Gulshan Town / Karachi

The unidentified assailants opened fire at three students from Karachi University, who were riding on their motorcycle in Block 4 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar area under Gulshan Town in Karachi. As a result one student identified as Murtaza died instantly while his colleagues Shahid and Ehsan were crucially injured. "The dead and injured belonged to the Shia community and it appeared to be target killing incident," said Police official.

A senior traffic police officer, DSP Faiz Ali Shigri, was shot dead while his driver hurt in suspected sectarian attack in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Gulshan Town in Karachi.

A member of Ahmadi community, Shaikh Sajid Mehmood, was shot dead in suspected sectarian attack in the Gulzar-i-Hijri area of Gulshan Town in the evening, according to Police and the community official.
