Three suspected militants, identified as Gul Pir Khan, Noor Alam and Ameer Mohammad, were killed in a Police encounter led by CID's Counter-Terrorism Unit on Northern Bypass, on the outskirts of Karachi.

Two Rangers personnel were killed and a civilian was injured when unidentified militants opened fire at the Rangers' raiding team and also hurled a hand grenade during the encounter in Khurramabad area of Landhi Town.

Abdul Latif (30), the brother of the ASWJ District Central president, Abdul Rauf, was shot dead while another was injured when unidentified motorcyclists opened fire at a general store near Pahar Ganj within the limits of the Sharae Noor Jahan Police Station in Karachi.

A factory worker was gunned down near his house in Qaimkhani Colony within the jurisdiction of the Ittehad Town Police Station.

A man identified as Syed Shah (24), was shot dead near 4-K Chowrangi within the limits of the Surjani Police Station.

A factory supervisor was killed inside his office located on the second floor of a clothing factory in Godhra Colony within the limits of the Gabol Town Police Station.

The body of a woman identified as 45-year-old Feroza was found in her house in Orangi Town within the limits of the Pakistan Bazaar Police Station.

An unidentified woman was found dead in the bushes near New Port Qasim within the limits of Shah Latif Police Station.

Four Al-Qaeda terrorists, including a 'commander', were killed in alleged encounter with Police in Qayyumabad area of Karachi. CID In-charge Raja Umer Khattab said the shootout with terrorists took place in sector D area of Qayyumabad. Police also recovered suicide jackets and weapons from the custody of terrorists. He said Al-Qaeda 'commander', identified as Sajjad, was among the dead.

Unidentified armed men shot and injured two Policemen in Nazimabad 3 area. Both the Policemen were rushed to a nearby hospital but they succumbed to their wounds on the way. The deceased Policemen were identified as Bughio Khan and Abdul Bari.

A man named Suleman Rizvi was killed when armed assailants opened fire on a mechanic shop in Paposh Nagar area.

Police claimed that the accused opened firing on patrolling Policeman in Jhatpat market, Kalakot and in retaliatory fire gang war accused identified as Ramzan was killed. Police said Ramzan belongs to Baba Ladla group and was involved in several cases.

In an exchange of fire, gang war accused Abid alias Abba was killed in Saifee Lane area within the limits of Baghdadi Police Station. Police said Abid was involved in more than 10 cases of murder. Five personnel of Baghdadi Police sustained injuries in exchange of fire with gang war accused.

One MQM activist was shot dead and two sympathizers were injured in a firing incident in Orangi town.
