He describes himself as "self-employed" and says he has been a spokesman since January 2010.

In a disturbing development for Islamabad, a former commander of the TTP, Hafiz Saeed Khan, has replaced an Afghan national, Abdul Rahim Muslim Dost, as the Ameer of the Khorasan chapter (which includes Pakistan) of Daish or the IS, led by Abu Bakar Al Baghdadi. The previous Daish Ameer for the Khorasan chapter, Abdul Rahim Muslim Dost, was a former Guantanamo prisoner, who had earlier spent several years in a Pakistani prison after being freed by the Americans.

During his visit to Kabul, the CoAS General Raheel Sharif was informed by Afghan authorities that "they are tightening the noose around Fazlullah" the fugitive 'chief' of TTP. According to security sources, the visit took place following Intelligence reports that Fazlullah directly masterminded the February 13, 2015, Imambargah attack in Peshawar reportedly from Afghanistan's Kunar Province or its adjoining belt. "There was credible intel (intelligence) information that it was cross-border activity," said the unnamed sources. A source disclosed that the Army Chief reiterated Pakistan's demand for action against the TTP chief. "They [Afghanistan] are after him [Fazlullah] and may be quite close," the source claimed.

Files recovered from slain al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad (KP) reveal that the Prime Minister's brother, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, sought to strike a peace deal with the TTP through al Qaeda. The files were revealed in terror convict Abid Naseer's trial by a Brooklyn jury on March 4, 2015. One of the files is a letter written by Atiyah Abd al-Rahman (Mahmud), who was then the 'general manager' of al Qaeda, to Osama bin Laden (identified as Sheikh Abu Abdallah) in July 2010. The letter reveals a complicated nexus involving al Qaeda, TTP, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and the ISI.

The TTP splinter group JuA confirmed, that two of its key 'commanders', Maulana Shakeel Ahmed Haqqani, alias Qari Shakeel, and Dr Tariq Ali, alias Abu Obaidah al-Islamabadi, had been killed along with two other men in Nangarhar Province of Afghanistan. In a statement released, the group's 'spokesperson' Ehsanullah Ehsan blames the ISI for their deaths and he warned that the group will exact revenge. The LI led by Mangal Bagh has merged itself into the TTP under a reorganization planned by militants. According to a statement issued by JuA 'spokesman' Ehsanullah Ehsan, the reorganized TTP would consist of members of his group, LI and the remaining of the TTP. The TTP rejected reports that its 'chief' Mullah Fazlullah was killed in airstrikes and ground raids in Tirah Valley area of Khyber Agency in FATA. "It is a complete lie" TTP spokesperson Mohammad Khorasani said hours after reports of TTP chief's death arose in the media. "The reports concerning death of our chief are totally baseless and we reject all these claims," Khorasani said in an email sent to The Express Tribune. Khorasani added that only just three members of the TTP were killed in the strikes. He also claimed inflicting losses on the security forces.

The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan, said there were no confirmed reports of death of TTP chief Mullah Fazlullah in the ongoing operation in Tirah Valley. "The factual position will emerge in a day or two," he said while interacting with media persons.

The TTP hanged a military intelligence officer in retaliation for recent executions of militants by Government, the militant group said in videos released. In the first video, a man identifies himself as Bashir Ahmad Khan, originally from the 19th Army air defence unit and later recruited by Pakistan's military intelligence agency, the ISI.

Six suspected militants were killed in a Police encounter at a hideout of militants in Manghopir area of Gadap Town in Karachi, the provincial capital of Sindh. Quoting an intelligence report, SSP Rao Anwar said, "They had come from Swat to carry out major terror acts in the provincial capital." Two of the deceased were identified as Haider Ali, 'commander' of TTP, while the other was identified as Abdullah. Police claimed to have seized a large quantity of explosive material, arms and ammunition from their custody.

Three security personnel were killed in a roadside bomb blast in Warghara area of Tiarza tehsil in South Waziristan Agency of FATA. Intelligence sources said the personnel were patrolling the area when an improvised explosive device placed by the road exploded. TTP claimed responsibility for the attack.

Twelve terrorists, including the commander of the TTP, Khan Said Sajna, have been killed in a drone strike in Damma area of Afghanistan. According to sources, Naeem Kochi and Kifayat Kochi were also among the terrorists killed in the drone strike. Sources said that over twenty terrorists also sustained injuries in the attack.

TTP rejected Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's claim to be the global leader of all Muslims. The TTP's statement comes after a similar rejection by the Afghan Taliban following pledges of allegiance from low-level commanders of both Islamist movements to the Middle East-based IS. "Baghdadi is not Khalifa (caliph) because in Islam, Khalifa means that he has command over all the Muslim world, while Baghdadi has no such command he has command over a specific people and territory," the Pakistan Taliban said in a statement. "Baghdadi is not a Islamic Khalifa because his selection is not according to Islamic rules," the statement said, adding that the IS leader had little control in Muslim countries like Egypt, Libya, Yemen and Afghanistan.

At least 26 people were killed and 50 others injured as a suicide bomber exploded himself near a NADRA office located on the link road in Mardan town of same District in KP. TTP splinter group JuA claimed the responsibility for the attack. In an email sent to media by their 'spokesman', Ehsanullah Ehsan, reads, "NADRA is an integral part of the State and any such targets that directly or indirectly work for the State will be our target."

TTP released its first annual report, claiming that in 2015 the TTP carried out 73 target killings, 12 ambush attacks, 10 raids, 19 IED blasts, five suicide attacks, 17 missile attacks and shot down two helicopters, and claims it killed some 686 people in 2015.
