According
to Press Trust of India, the Bangalore
police have arrested two persons in connection
with the December 28, 2005-terrorist attack
at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc)
in the city. Police said Nizamuddin alias
Munna and M. Noorulla Khan, both residents
of Chintamani in the Kolar district of Karnataka,
were arrested near Hesaraghatta on the outskirts
of capital Bangalore on January 22. Police
recovered two ‘tin bombs’, one ‘tiffin-carrier
bomb’, a country-made revolver with three
rounds, three electrical detonators and a
telephone book from their possession. The
six persons arrested so far in connection
with the incident were in constant touch with
each other and had also participated in the
meetings in Bangalore and were preparing to
carry out "violent militant activities" in
and around the city, said police sources.
