with
the
Mizoram
Government
deciding
to
resume
the
stalled
process
of
repatriation
of
the
Bru
refugees
from
Tripura
in
April,
the
Kolasib
District
administration
is
gearing
up
to
receive
638
Bru
families,
official
sources
said
on
March
27.
While
majority
of
the
Bru
refugees,
lodged
in
six
relief
camps
in
North
Tripura
District,
were
being
resettled
in
Mamit
District
on
the
Mizoram-Tripura
border,
628
Bru
families
would
be
resettled
in
Kolasib
District
on
the
Mizoram-Assam-Tripura
border,
official
sources
said.
The
first
batch
of
Bru
refugees
would
be
resettled
in
Mamit
District
and
those
returning
to
Kolasib
District
would
be
repatriated
during
May
and
June,
officials
said.
The
refugees
would
be
resettled
in
eight
villages
in
Kolasib,
officials
said,
adding
that
the
number
of
families
to
be
resettled
in
the
selected villages
has
already
been
decided.
Kolasib
District
Deputy
Commissioner
Niharika
Rai
instructed
all
the
concerned
departments
to
submit
the
detailed
preparations
to
her
by
March
28.
Meanwhile,
the
interrogation
of
the
three
Mizo
women
who
were
arrested
by
the
Border
Security
Force
(BSF)
from
Aizawl
on
March
19
has
revealed
that
Karimganj
border
(Assam)
has
become
a
conduit
for
the
smuggling
of
Fake
Indian
Currency
Notes
(FICNs).
According
to
information
from
the
Mizoram
capital,
Aizawl,
the
racketeers
operating
on
the
other
side
of
the
border
have
a
chain
of
contacts
who
act
as
couriers
to
deliver
FICNs
to
the
pre-arranged
destinations. |
