Kanglaonline reports that Security Forces (SFs) arrested one People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) cadre, identified as Yumnam Kanhai Meetei alias Kiran Kumar alias Nanao, from the house of Konthoujam Jateshor Singh of Lamphel Awang Khunou in Imphal West District at around 5:10am on April 17, a Police statement said. Kanhai Meetei disclosed that he joined PREPAK in the year 2010 under the command of ‘Sergeant Major’ Sanjoy Singh. Further he disclosed that he was earlier arrested by Imphal East commandos in the month of December 2011. After release on bail, he again joined the group. According to his statement he began working for CorCom (Coordination Committee of seven valley based militant group), under one Abujam Lamphel  alias Puremba of Changangei, ‘Second Lieutenant’ of United National Liberation Front (UNLF), in recruiting  youths for militant groups. It has also stated that recently they recruited one Aheibam Johnson (16) and handed over to a group for basic training. On follow up action, Abujam Lamphel Singh was also arrested on the same day at about 6.20am from his residence.

Meanwhile, SFs arrested one Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) cadre, identified as Laishram Bobo alias Suresh Meitei, from Khurai Lamlong in Imphal East District on April 16 at around 9:45am.

Elsewhere in the District, SFs arrested a PREPAK cadre, identified as Laishram Nanao alias Biken Singh, from Nongada Thongkhong on April 15.

The Sangai Express reports that three teenage boys are suspected to have been taken away by militant groups for recruitment. It is reported that three boys who went out from their homes in the morning of April 7 went missing since the day from Sairem village under Lamsang Police Station of Imphal West District. Sources identified the missing boys as Chanam Ajoynao alias Shantikumar (15), Sorai-sham Naothoibi (15) and Sapam Suran (15). Speaking to media persons on April 17, mothers of the three missing boys pleaded that their sons be returned to them if they were taken away by any militant group.

Separately, Arnold alias Bekkon, ‘captain’ of People’s Liberation Army (PLA) was sent to Guwahati Central Jail (Assam) on April 17, reports Kanglaonline. Arnold was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA) on April 2, 2012, from Siliguri in West Bengal and had been under the custody of the investigating agency since then. However, PLA had claimed that Arnold was a deserter.
