14 militants killed in Army aerial bombing in FATA

Army gunship helicopters pounded militant positions in Mamozai area of Orakzai Agency in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) on April 8 and killed 14 militants, reports Dawn. Officials claimed that militant ‘commanders’ Lutfur Rehman, Hisbanur Rehman, Luqman Khan and Islamuddin were killed in shelling on four militant hideouts. With military aircraft bombing militant hideouts in different areas, residents have started moving to safe places. According to witnesses, women and children have been forced to trek through difficult terrain on their way to Hangu District (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) via central Kurram Agency.  Many families have reached Tora Warai area of Hangu where they are looking for shelter and food.

Meanwhile, four personnel of Tochi Scouts were injured in a roadside bomb blast on the Miranshah-Dattakhel road near Miranshah in North Waziristan Agency, reports Dawn.
