Security Forces (SFs) arrested a top militant belonging to
the Ranjan Daimary faction of National
Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB-RD),
identified as Rafwt Goyary, at Karigaon
under Kokrajhar Police Station in
Kokrajhar District on May 15, reports
The Sentinel. SFs recovered
a pistol along with one live ammunition
and a notepad from his possession. 
Meanwhile, a committee to review the implementation of tripartite
Memorandum of Settlement (MoS), between
United People’s Democratic Solidarity
(UPDS), central and State Government,
has agreed to grant rehabilitation
package to all 568 cadres of UPDS
(which was earlier 324), who are present
on the day and had surrendered with
arms on December 14, 2011, reports
Nagaland Post. Further,
Assam Tribune adds that a tripartite Committee headed by Joint Secretary (North East)
in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)
would be formed. The committee is
proposed to include officials drawn
from various Central Ministries, including
Ministry for Development of Northeastern
Region (DoNER), Human Resource and
Development (HRD), Health and Family
& Welfare, Culture, Environment
and Forest, Planning Commission, besides
the Assam Government. Surjya Rongphar
and Kang Jang Terang would represent
the UPDS in the committee. 
Further, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi welcomed Krishak Mukti
Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil
Gogoi's decision on May 15 to float
a political party in 2015-16 and appealed
to Anti-Talks faction of United Liberation
Front of Asom (ULFA-ATF)
