JuD chief Hafiz Saeed sends legal notice to two journalists for publishing 'false news' of his meeting with US ambassador Cameron Munter

Jama’at-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed on May 16 sent legal notices to two journalists for publishing news about his alleged meeting with United States (US) Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter, reported Daily Times. Saeed served the notices on columnist Nazir Naji and reporter Amir Mir and sought PKR 100 million in damages. The notices contend that Naji’s column in an Urdu daily Jang on May 9, 2012, and Mir’s report on Asia Times Online website on May 12, 2012, were aimed at tarnishing Saeed’s image. Naji wrote in his column that after the US announced a bounty of USD10 million on Saeed “some extremist elements arranged a secret meeting between the Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) founder and Munter”.
