India asks Pakistan to nail JuD chief Hafiz Mohammad Saeed
Countering
Pakistan’s stand that there is no
“concrete” evidence against Lashkar-e-Taiba
(LeT)
founder and Jamaat- ud-Dawah (JuD)
chief HafizMohammad Saeed,
India on May 24 insisted that it
had provided additional evidence
against him and his associates that
should be presented in Pakistani
court to prosecute the suspects
in November 26, 2008, Mumbai attacks
(also known as 26/11) case, reports
Indian Express. On the opening
day of the two-day Home Secretary-level
talks in Islamabad (Pakistan), India
also asked Pakistan to hand over
underworld don Dawood Ibrahim besides
several Indian Mujahedeen (IM) leaders
who are believed to be in that country.
Indian Home Secretary R K Singh
prior to his talks said, “It seems
that the progress in judicial proceedings
against persons charged with involvement
in the Mumbai incident is very slow.
Many persons who are the actual
accused have not been brought before
the courts," adds Economic
Times.
