President Asif Ali Zardari on June
20 nominated Makhdoom Shahbuddin
as the next Prime Minister
to fill the office that felt
vacant after the Supreme Court
disqualified Yousuf Raza Gilani
on June 19, 2012, reports
Daily Times. Shahbuddin
will file his nomination papers
on June 21, 2012 (today),
while Pakistan People’s Party
(PPP)
leader Raja Pervez Ashraf
will be his covering candidate.
Shahbuddin’s nomination came
after a meeting of PPP leadership chaired by President Zardari.
