The Maoists
are opposing
the Government’s
plans to exploit
the huge bauxite
reserve in
the Visakha
Agency. About
15 armed Maoists
of the Galikonda
area committee,
including
women, poured
petrol on
an excavator
parked near
Jamparlova
and set it
ablaze. The
setting ablaze
of the excavator
was in protest
against bauxite
mining and
the Operation
Green Hunt.
