Election Commission (EC) on June 3 came up with a list of provisions
in the Interim Constitution
and other electoral laws
that require amendment
to hold fresh Constituent
Assembly (CA) elections,
reports Ekantipur.Com.
The EC has reiterated
that it cannot hold the
polls, scheduled for November
22, until the laws, including
in the Interim Constitution,
are amended three months
ahead of the elections.
The list has been forwarded
to the Government. 
Meanwhile, UCPN-M chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal aka Prachanda
has started discussions
with the party leaders
of various ranks in a
bid to keep party unity
intact. Pushpa Kamal Dahal
consulted the leaders
to narrow down the intra-party
rift by taking dissenting
Baidya faction into confidence.
 
Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN- UML)
on June 2 decided to form
an internal commission
to resolve dispute inside
the party over the issue
of identity-based federalism
and forge consensus on
addressing concerns of
indigenous, Madhesi, dalit
and other marginalised
