President Ram Baran Yadav 'okays' funds for Constituent Assembly elections

Finance Minister Barsha Man Pun on July 12 said President Ram Baran Yadav has agreed to the Government request for budgetary allocation for Constituent Assembly (CA) election and establishment of Nepal Army’s general directorate for security and development, reports ekantipur.com. “President has agreed for additional budgetary allocation for election, establishment of general directorate, and former Maoist combatants,” said Pun. The Government had earlier pressed for a partial budget with few new programmes although opposition parties remained adamant for an advance budget through an ordinance as per Article 96 A (2) of the Interim Constitution.
