Four persons including three militants killed in Manipur

Sangai Express quoting official sources has reported that the Manipur police shot dead two unidentified militants during an encounter at Chingmeirong under Lamphel police station limits in the Imphal West district on July 13. One carbine, one magazine with three live rounds and six empty cases of 9mm pistol were recovered from the site of the incident. 

Meanwhile, security force (SF) personnel belonging to the Assam Rifles shot dead a suspected People’s Liberation Army (PLA) cadre at Thiyam village under Irilbung police station limits in the Imphal East district on July 14. Two hand grenades were recovered from the incident site.  

Separately, unidentified gunmen shot dead a civilian at Babu Thong in capital Imphal. 

Elsewhere, SFs arrested one United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadre, Thingujam Somorjit, from Kongpal Chanam Leikai in the Imphal East district on July 14.
