Ten militants arrested in Manipur

Imphal Free Press reports that the security forces (SF) personnel belonging to the Assam Rifles arrested five suspected United National Liberation Front (UNLF) cadres, N. Boinao Meitei, O. Hemanta Singh, T. Brojen, Th. Priyokumar and M. Premkumar, during a search operation from Moreh in the Chandel district on July 16.  

Separately, SF arrested three People’s United Liberation Front (PULF) cadres, Mohammad Majiboor Rehaman, Mohammad Aktar Khan and Mohammad Ziao Rehaman from Masjid Road in Imphal city. 

Earlier on July 15, SF arrested two People’s Liberation Army (PLA) cadres from Lungbam Awang Leikai in the Imphal West district. 

Meanwhile, the PLA has paraded one of its former colleagues, Yenkhom Bijoy alias Surjit, before media persons at an unspecified place in the Bishnupur district on July 16 for procuring contract work amounting to INR 1,13,77,317 from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal in the name of the outfit.
