Security Forces (SFs) on July 27 recovered a cache of arms
and ammunition
from a militant
hideout busted
in Ramban District,
reports Daily
Excelsior.
"Based on
specific inputs
regarding presence
of a hideout in
Harah area of
Gool, the Rashtriya
Rifles along with
Territorial Army
and Police this
afternoon launched
search operations
and unearthed
a hideout,"
official sources
said. They added
that during searches
one .303 rifle
(Registered No
84837M), one Pistol
7.62 mm, 11 catridges
of .303 calibre,
one UBGL (in Rusted
and Broken condition)
and one Radio
Set without a
Battery (in Unserviceable
condition) were
recovered from
the hideout.
Separately, in a joint search operation, Police and Army recovered
arms ammunition
at Shirpora in
Baramulla District
on July 27. Police
said that during
the search operation
at village Shirpora,
one AK 47 magazine,
30 rounds of AK
ammunition, two
hand grenades,
14 leaves of Al-Badr
letter pad and
three of Lashkar-e-Toiba
(LeT)
was recovered. 
Further, in a massive man hunt that has been launched by the
SFs in South Kashmir
against militants,
particularly LeT,
after attacks
on Police and
Army early this
month (July),
SFs on July 27
arrested a LeT
militant from
Wahipora village
in Pulwama District
and is questioning
him about LeT
men who carried
out recent strikes
against Police
and Army in South
Kashmir. SFs cordoned
the house of one
Ajaz Ahmad and
arrested a LeT
militant, Mohammad
Mohsin Thoker
alias Abu
Hamza, from the
house. Police
said that a mobile
phone, one SIM
card, one memory
card, 12 letter
pads of LeT and
one LeT stamp
were recovered
from his possession.
Meanwhile, over 30 people were injured in clashes that broke
out in Bandipora
town of Bandipora
District for third
consecutive day
on July 27 against
the killing of
a youth in Army
firing on July
24. Hundreds
of people gathered
at Aloosa, the
native village
of Dar. They took
to streets and
carried out a
protest march
towards Bandipora
town to protest
against the killing.
As reported earlier,
21-year old youth,
identified as
Hilal Ahmad Dar,
son of Ghulam
Mohammad Dar of
Aloosa in Bandipora,
was killed in
Army firing in
the night of July
24 in Bandipora
District.
