Baloch woman writer attacked in Balochistan

The renowned Baloch poetess, writer, thinker and a lecturer at the Sardar Bahadur Khan Women’s University (SKB) Nusheen Qambrani was attacked by unidentified armed militants at her residence in Quetta on the night of July 31, reported Daily Times. According to the Police, unidentified armed militants entered Qambrani’s house and threatened to kill her and kidnap her daughter. The armed men also beat up her servant.

Qambrani told the media that for the last four days unidentified men, in a car without a number plate, kept coming to her house. “They threatened my watchman and family and said they wanted to kill me,” she said, adding that she did not know who they were and what they wanted. “I have received such threats many times before from these people,” she disclosed. She appealed to the Government to take notice of harassment.

Separately, Bolan Medical College (BMC) senior psychologist Doctor Ghulam Rasool Kakar was abducted on August 1 from Brewery Road Quetta by unidentified armed militants. Station House Officer (SHO) Azhar Shah said that Doctor Ghulam Rasool was on his way home from his private hospital when unidentified armed men in a car intercepted him on Brewery Road and took him hostage at gunpoint.

Elsewhere, two men were abducted by unidentified armed militants in Wadh area of Khuzdar District.
