Two BSF troopers injured as Pakistan violates CFA in Jammu and Kashmir

Pakistani troops in the night of August opened heavy firing simultaneously on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch sector and International Border (IB) in Hiranagar sector of Kathua District causing injuries to two Border Security Force (BSF) troopers, according to Daily Excelsior. Official sources didn’t rule out Pakistan Army and Rangers facilitating infiltration attempts by the militants under the cover of firing.

The Rangers targeted the BSF troopers and their posts at Pansar Post in Hiranagar sector in Kathua District at about 7.30pm. Two BSF troopers, who were patrolling the forward areas of Pansar Post, were injured in the firing. The BSF troopers retaliated and heavy exchange of firing between the two sides continued till late night when the reports last came in.

Pakistan Army also resorted to heavy firing in Shahpur Kirni sector, about 15 kilometers from Poonch, in violation of the Cease Fire Agreement (CFA), at 7.45pm. The firing continued till late night, sources said. However, no casualties were reported.
