On April 20, Ministry of Refugee and Repatriation of Taliban regime reports that Pakistani Police have deported 837 Afghan refugees from the country in the last two days, reports Hasht-e Subh. In a statement on its X (formerly Twitter) page on Saturday, April 20, the Ministry disclosed that these refugees entered through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings in Nangarhar and Kandahar provinces. The statement indicated that these refugees returned to Afghanistan on April 18 and 19. The Pakistani government initiated the second phase of forcibly deporting Afghan refugees from the country on April 15, 2023. Approximately 550,000 Afghan refugees returned to the country in the first phase of deportation from Pakistan.
On April 16, Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres hacked to death a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-affiliated deputy Sarpanch (head of the Panchayat, a village-level local self-government institution) identified as Pancham Das Manikpuri, accusing him of working for the Police in Dandvan village in Farasgaon under Narayanpur Tehsil (revenue unit) in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh, reports The Times of India. The armed cadres broke down Pancham's door with axes, barged in, and hacked him to death in front of his family. They left after stringing up a Maoist banner near the house, accusing Pancham of corruption and working as a ‘police informer’. The Maoists of the ‘west Bastar division committee’ claimed responsibility for the killing and said Pancham didn't heed repeated warnings, "which is why he was killed in front of his family members".
On April 20, Police busted a terrorist hideout and recovered two detonators, 12 rounds of AK assault rifles, one improvised explosive device (IED)-enabled tape recorder and calculator, one battery, and a few connecting wires in the Dalas Barneli area in the Arnas subdivision in the Reasi District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. Officials said a search operation is still going on in the area.

On April 20, the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully recovered one drone (DJI Matrix 300 RTK) along with three packets of suspected heroin (narcotics) weighing around 2.710 kilograms in Jangir Singh ki Dhani village in Ferozepur District of Punjab, reports ANI News. The packets were kept in a blue-coloured bag with a small torch, and an illuminating green-coloured small ball was also found attached to the drone.
