On May 7, in an encounter, Security Forces (SFs) killed two militants, including a top ‘commander’ of The Resistance Front (TRF), identified as Basit Dar, and his associate, Faheem Ahmed Baba, who was an over ground worker (OGW) in Redwani Payeen village in Kulgam District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Daily Excelsior. The Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Kashmir said, “One of them Basit Dar belonged to TRF ‘A’ category, he was involved in more than 18 cases… He was involved in the planning of conspiracy to attack minorities, police forces and civilians,”

A Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) ‘commander’ Samaya Madkam (29) surrendered before the Police in Kandhamal District of Odisha on May 7, reports The New Indian Express. Madkam, a key figure in the first platoon of the 8th Company of KKBN (Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh) Division, had been involved in Maoist activities since October 2005. Hailing from Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, Madkam faces at least 17 cases in Kandhamal, Boudh, and Nuapada districts, with more in Chhattisgarh.
On May 7, National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed a chargesheet against three more cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in Nampally court in Hyderabad District of Telangana in the case of alleged supply of explosives and drones to CPI-Maoist, reports The Times of India. NIA officials said most wanted and absconding Maoists Hidma, Chokka Rao alias Damodar and Kamala were chargesheeted. A case was registered on June 5, 2023, by the Cherla Police after they arrested alleged couriers Nageswara Rao, Mallikarjun, Umashankar. They bought the explosives from one S Kumaraswamy, who was in possession of explosive license. Later, NIA took over the case and filed the first chargesheet against the arrested accused in September last. Now, a supplementary chargesheet has been filed in Nampally court.
At least one terrorist was killed and three other terrorists sustained injuries during a search operation at the Nargosa top of South Waziristan District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 7, reports The Khorasan Diary. The Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said on May 7 that there is "irrefutable evidence" of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) using Afghanistan's soil against the country, reports The News. "There is irrefutable evidence of Afghan soil being used by the TTP [...] recent terrorist incidents can be traced to Afghanistan", he added. Reaffirming the commitment on counter-terrorism efforts, Major General Chaudhry said that Pakistan will leave no stone unturned to eliminate the terrorist network. He stressed that the Security Forces would go to any extent against terrorists. However, the spokesperson noted that the first priority of the Pakistan Army was to maintain law and order in the country.
