Mymensingh District

JMB militant Rakib Hasan Russell was killed in crossfire at Mirzapur sub-District of Tangail District. One shotgun, one bullet and three bullet shells were recovered from the scene.

Police arrested JMB militant Sabbir Ahmed (55) in Kaliakoir sub-District of Gazipur District.

The panel formed by the Home Ministry to investigate the snatching of three convicted JMB militants on February 23 from a prison van in Mymensingh District found Police and the jail authorities responsible for the incident.

Mymensingh District

DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police in a daylong drive arrested 11 suspected JMB militants from different areas of Mymensingh District. The DB also recovered 4.5 kilograms of explosives.

DB of Police blamed the supporters of JMB and ABT for their involvement in the killing of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat leader Shaikh Nurul Islam Faruqi on August 27 in Dhaka city.

A Dhaka Court accused four militants of JMB for killing six people in Dhaka city's Gopibagh area on December 21, 2013. The accused are Syed Ziaul Islam, Al Amin, Golam Sarwar Rahat and Azmir.

Police arrested two JMB militants Asif Adnan (26) and Fazle Elahi Tanjil (24) from Shegunbagicha area of Dhaka city. Police claimed that the duo were preparing to fly to Syria to join the IS militants.

A Dhaka court sentenced Rezaul Karim Reza, a JMB militant, to 10 years' rigorous imprisonment in a case filed over bomb blast before the then Hotel Sheraton (now Ruposhi Bangla Hotel) in the capital on August 17, 2005. Reza was also fined BDT 5,000, in default to suffer three months more in jail. Three other accused Abdullah Al Fattah alias Shakil, Hafez Enayetullah alias Apu and Tareq Iqbal were acquitted as charges against him were not proved.

West Bengal, India

NIA of India, probing the Burdwan blast case, found the module of JMB in Burdwan, West Bengal (India) managed to transport six consignments of IEDs to Bangladesh to be used for terrorist activities in the country.

NIA of India uncovered a suspected plot by JMB to assassinate Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed and carry out a coup. JMB also planned to assassinate BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, said the NIA.

Naryanganj District

Police arrested Zafar Ahmed, a suspect of JMB from Naryanganj District in connection with his alleged links with Sajjid alias Sheikh Rehmantullah detained in India for involving in Burdwan blast.

Kamal Uddin Ahmed, Senior Additional Home Secretary said that Bangladesh and India have planned simultaneous raids along the border to nab the hiding members of JMB.

DB of Police arrested four members of JMB, including its women wing chief from Dhaka city's Sadarghat area and recovered lots of Jihadi books and explosives from their possessions.

A Mymensingh District Court placed eight militants of JMB on a tree-day remand in the case for snatching three militants of the party by ambushing a prison van and killing a Constable in Trishal sub-District on February 23.

NSI Director General, Mohammad Shamsul Haque said "We have largely neutralised radical groups like the JMB or HuJI-B, but now they seem to have found sanctuaries across the border."
