Eight JeI-ICS cadres surrendered to the District and Sessions Judge's Court accused in the cases for killing an Ansar and torching polling centers in Parbatipur sub-District of Dinajpur District during the parliamentary elections on January 5, 2014, were sent to jail by rejecting their bail prayers.

Dhaka city

A cadre of ICS was arrested in Dhaka city for uploading indecent posts and distorted photographs of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed on Facebook.

Chittagong District

Police arrested a cadre of ICS from Purba Chambal area in Chittagong District. Police recovered one LG and two rounds of bullets from him.

Police arrested a cadre of ICS in Madhyam Kanchana village of Chittagong District. The arrestee Muahamad Selim (28) is accused in two cases filed over subversive activities.

14 cadres of ICS arrested from Kashemabad Siddikia Kamil Madrasa in Barisal District while they were planning to carry out sabotage.

Chittagong District

Police arrested Tauhidul Islam Tauhid (25), General Secretary of Chittagong city unit of ICS in Chawk Bazar area of Chittagong city in Chittagong District. Police said that Tauhid was planning to conduct subversive activities in the area.

Sylhet District

RAB arrested a cadre of ICS in Sobhanighat area of Sylhet District. The arrestee was identified as Foyjul Islam. He was wanted in several cases.

Bogra District

Police arrested a militant of JMB at Shajahanpur sub-District of Bogra District for his alleged involvement in a gun attack on a Shia mosque in 2015. Police recovered one AK-22 rifle, a foreign pistol, four magazines and 52 bullets.

Chittagong District

Police arrested 17 cadres of JeI-ICS while they were holding a clandestine meeting in a restaurant in Patenga sea beach area of Chittagong city in Chittagong District.

Rangpur District

Police arrested two JeI-ICS cadres from Rangpur District on various charges. They were later produced before a court that sent them to the jail.

In Bogra District, Police arrested 15 cadres of JeI-ICS accused in different cases filed over subversive activities.

In Chittagong District, 12 JeI-ICS cadres were arrested from Probaha Coaching Centre in Patiya sub-District gathered to make plans to carry out sabotage acts.

In Pabna District, 12 JeI-ICS cadres were arrested in connection with subversive activities in the District.

Police arrested Abu Naser Binnu, an ex-cadre of ICS in connection with killing of Mahmuda Khanam Mitu, wife of SP Babul Akter in Farhadabad area of Chittagong District.

Enamul Haque (25), a Municipality Ward secretary of ICS confessed that he along with six people took part in the killing Hindu priest Ananda Gopal Ganguly (70).

Police arrested 15 cadres of JeI-ICS while they were holding a secret meeting in Bongaon area of Chapainawabganj District.

Two leaders of ICS were killed in a 'gunfight' with Police in Jhenidah District. Police also recovered a firearm, two bullets, five sharp weapons and five crude bombs from the spot.

Ibnul Islam Parvej (27), a former president of ICS, Jhenidah Sadar unit was killed in a 'shootout' with Police in Jhenidah District. Police recovered from the spot.

Dinajpur District

In Dinajpur District, Police arrested five ICS cadres in Ramnagar village. 21 crude bombs and books on jihad were recovered from them.

Chittagong District

Police arrested two cadres of ICS in Demsha area of Chittagong District. Police recovered a homemade gun and two cartridges from them.

Tangail District

In Tangail District, Police arrested Humayara Begum (38), Mirzapur unit chief of JeI women wing and her son Nazmus Sakib (18), President of Gorai union unit ICS for conducting anti-Government activities.

Joypurhat District

In Joypurhat District, Police arrested Mushfiqur Rahman, an ICS cadre from Nandaildighi village with books and leaflets on jihad.

Jhenidah District

Two leaders of ICS arrested in Jhenidah District. They confessed that they had killed Sree Sree Radhamadan Bigraha temple priest Shyamananda Das and Shia preacher Abdur Razzak.

Saiful Islam Mamun (22), a cadre of ICS was killed in a gunfight with Police in Jhenidah District. Police recovered one shutter gun, five crude bombs, bullets and a billhook from him.

In Dhaka city, 19 ICS cadres were arrested from a house in Khilgaon area. Seven crude bombs, four machetes and a computer were recovered from them.

In Kushtia District, Police arrested 13 cadres of ICS on charge of planning subversive activities from two dormitories of KMCH.

In Dinajpur District, Police also arrested five ICS cadres from a mess at Ramnagar while they were holding a secret meeting at the mess.

RAB arrested two leaders of JeI-ICS, accused of involvement in an arson case, from their house in Badalgachhi of Naogaon District. The arrestees are Jamal Uddin (58), president of Mathurapur union unit of JeI and his son Saiful Islam (22), president of the union unit of ICS.

In Jessore District, Police arrested five leaders and cadres of JeI-ICS. Police recovered two hand bombs, a party banner, some leaflets and books from them.

In Rangpur District, four cadres of ICS and a leader of JeI were arrested charge sheeted in different cases.

Police arrested eight cadres of ICS in the Dinajpur District town. Police arrested them while they were holding a secret meeting.

Police arrested a local leader of ICS from Gangachara sub-District of Rangpur District. The arrestee is a fugitive accused in an arson case.

In Chapainawabganj District, six ICS cadres were arrested from a madrassa at Chandipur village. Police recovered six home-made bombs and a number of jihadi books from the madrasa.

In Thakurgaon District, Police arrested two JeI leaders Amir Shamsuzzaman Dulal (41) and Abdul Mazid (55) and four ICS cadres Yasin Ali (22), Shah Alam (25), Riazul Islam (22) and Abdur Rahman (30).

In Jessore District, two ICS cadres were arrested by Police from Bundalitola. Police recovered two crude bombs, one machete, jihadi books and toll collection vouchers of ICS from their possession.

Gazipur District

Four cadres of ICS were arrested in Bosugaoan area of Gazipur District. Police recovered four crude bombs and two sharp weapons from their possessions.

Narail District

A leader of ICS was arrested at Sadar sub-District in Narail District. Police recovered five crude bombs from him.

Dinajpur District

Police arrested 11 leaders and cadres of ICS with jihadi books from a coaching centre in Dinajpur town of Dinajpur District.

Dhaka city

Police arrested 18 leaders and cadres of JeI-ICS while they were holding a secret meeting at a school in Dhaka city's Badda area.

Jessore District

Police arrested a cadre of ICS while a group of ICS cadres were holding a secret meeting at village Khajura in Jessore District. Police recovered five crude bombs from him.

Jhenidah District

Police arrested 21 cadres of JeI-ICS in Jhenidah District to prevent any sort of subversive activities in the District.

Lalmonirhat District

Police arrested a local leader of ICS from Khatapara Mazar area in Lalmonirhat District in connection with a case filed for his involvement in carrying out subversive activities.

Jessore District

Police arrested eight cadres of JeI-ICS from Borashula area of Jessore District. Police recovered jihadi books and leaflets of JeI-ICS from them.

Kathmandu

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal meeting a delegation representing injured and disabled members of the then PLA in Kathmandu assured free treatment to injured members of former PLA.

Bogra District

Police arrested 14 leaders and cadres of ICS from Bogra town of Bogra District while they were holding a secret meeting to run subversive activities. Police recovered four machetes and some jihadi books from them.

Narayanganj District

Two cadres of ICS were arrested in Naluapara area of Narayanganj District. The arrestees are Habibullah Sohel (31) and Masum Billah (19).

Chittagong District

Police arrested a leader of ICS from his house in West Bakalia area of Chittagong District accused in a case filed over clash with BCL activists in Chittagong College area in May.

Narail District

Police arrested three leaders of JeI-ICS at village Laskarpur of Narail District. Police recovered five cocktails and some jihadi books from them.

Dhaka city

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan told a parliamentary body that his ministry was taking steps to ban ICS and Ansar Al Islam for anti-state, militant activities.

A local leader of ICS was snatched from Police custody by his relatives in Dumurkhali Bazar of Jessore District when the Police were about to take him to the station on a motorcycle after arresting him.

Police arrested Jahangir Alam, a regional leader of ICS from Dhaperhat bus stand area in Gaibandha District. Police said that Jahangir is an accused in seven criminal cases.

Chittagong District

Police arrested five female cadres of ICS in Boalkhali sub-District of Chittagong District. The arrestees are Shanaz Begam (22), Riazul Jannat Sumaiya (19), Nahida Sultana (19), Samira Akther (19) and Tania Akther (19).

A leader of JeI and a cadre of the party's student wing ICS were killed in a shootout with Police in Bhutiargathi village of Jhenaidah District. The arrestees are Jahurul Islam (45), the JeI ameer of Jhenaidah town unit and Tarik Hasan Sajib (30), the adviser to Dhaka city unit of ICS. Three Police constables were injured in the gunfight. Police also claimed to have recovered two homemade guns, two bullets, five crude bombs and a motorbike from the spot.

Dhaka

The ICT-1 framed seven specific charges against two persons, including a former leader of Habiganj AL, over crimes against humanity and genocide committed during the 1971 Liberation War. The tribunal fixed December 4 to start the trial with the prosecution's opening statement and witnesses' testimonies. The accused -- Liakat Ali (61), former president of Lakhai upazila unit AL in Habiganj, and Aminul Islam alias Rajab Ali (62), of Astogram upazila in Kishoreganj -- are now on the run. The prosecution on May 3 pressed the charges against them and the tribunal decided to hold their trial in absentia as they did not appear before it even after the publication of advertisements in two national dailies asking them to do so.

According to the prosecution, Liakat, a college student in 1971, was involved in Muslim League along with his maternal uncle. During the Liberation War, his uncle became chairman of Fandauk Union Peace Committee in Brahmanbaria's Nasirnagar upazila while he led the union's Razakar Bahini. Liakat, now believed to be in the United States, committed the crimes with assistance from the Pakistani occupation army, went into hiding after the Liberation War and later got involved in the AL, according to the tribunal's investigation agency. Meanwhile, Aminul of Astogram was president of Hazi Hasmat Ali College unit of JeI's then student wing ICS in 1970 and formed Al-Badr Bahini with ICS men during the Liberation War. Aminul committed atrocities in association with the Pakistani army and his force. He was caught by freedom fighters at the Liberation War's end, according to the prosecution. Three cases were filed against him under the Collaborators Act-1972. Aminul, who had been given a life sentence, got released in 1981 after the political changeover, according to the agency. The charges are acts of genocide killing 43 Hindu men in Lakhai's Krishnapur, nine Hindu men in Chandipur and 26 Hindu men in Gadainagar; act of genocide in Krishnapur, Chandipur and Gadainagar leaving eight Hindu men dead; killing of one Rangu Mia in Nasirnagar; killing of five men in Sabiyanagar in Astogram; and killing of 10 other men in the same village.

Chittagong District

Police arrested 27 leaders and cadres of ICS while they were holding meetings to conduct subversive activities at a two-storey building in Sholashahar Alfallah Goli area of Chittagong city in Chittagong District.
