2011, 2010 and 2012 respectively. Out of 18, the ULFA had called

stood at 75 (2010), 85 (2011), 79 (2012) and 113 (2013). The KPLT,
a militant outfit operating from Karbi Anglong, has called the

SFs arrested three suspected KPLT militants from
Kheroni area in Karbi Anglong District. The Police also recovered
two motor cycles (Pulsur) and one TVS bike, mobile phones and
some amount of cash from their possession. The trio was arrested
in connection with the January 31 Zerikinding abduction of two
ginger traders Dhiman Lindo (30) and Sudip Chanda (35). According
to sources, a total of INR 1.5 million were paid to the kidnappers
by the family members of Sudip for their safe release. Sources
also added that all the dealings were held at Lengri in Karbi
Anglong District.

The KPLT has warned that Nagaland would be held
responsible in case of any retaliatory action from Karbi Anglong
to check intrusion of Naga people inside Assam. KPLT's statement
came after an alleged incursion bid by a section of people from
Nagaland inside forest area of Karbi Anglong and torching of two
houses in a bordering village.
Condemning the "encroachment of Karbi Anglong
land by people of Nagaland", KPLT 'general secretary' Ranam Lijang
accused the people and government of Nagaland for illegal land
grabbing and termed the recent bid as "motivated by evil intention.

Police rescued five people who were abducted by
suspected KPLT militants. The five persons were abducted at gunpoint
by a 10 to 12-member group of KPLT from an IBP petrol pump in
the Geleki area in Karbi Anglong District on National Highway
37 near Kaziranga National Park. The abductees were taken to an
undisclosed hill range .The police said that they arrested suspected
cadres of KPLT and with the information gathered from interrogation
search was launched resulting in safe return of all five.

six militants of KPLT including its 'commander-in-chief', Bikash
Teron alias Kangthur in a gun battle. The other cadres

population residing in Block II, Ri-Bhoi District. KPLT has been
openly demanding and threatening Khasi people who refuse to heed
to the extortion threats. A resident of Umtleih village in Umsning
of Ri-Bhoi District stated that he had received a call from the
'area commander' of the outfit on May 19 night demanding that
each family of the village should pay INR 2000 each to the outfit.
The 'Area Commander' also threatened that the outfit would not
hesitate to kill those who refused to pay.
