APHC-M called for shutdown in election areas on December 14, saying "polls can never replace right to self determination as the final resolution to Kashmir." "We reject the staged drama of polls in Kashmir and once again appeal people to observe complete shutdown in poll bound areas on December 14," the Hurriyat spokesperson said. The APHC-M condemned the continuous house arrest of its Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and debarring him from offering Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar.
