Tamenglong/ Manipur

SFs raided a NSCN-K camp near Lungchai village of Tamenglong district. Taking advantage of darkness and forested areas as well as alarm from their local sympathizers, the cadres managed to escape, leaving huge cache of arms and ammunition.

Dimapur

SFs launched a search operation and arrested NSCN-K militant, "2nd lieutenant" Akuto,from Jail Colony of Dimapur District. The team also recovered one 7.65mm pistol with six rounds from the cadre.

Personnel of 31- AR, arrested one NSCN cadre, identified as Mongang Phom, from Old Police Point at Longleng in Longleng District.

Thirteen members of 'Naga armies' from NSCN-KK have joined NSCN-K.

Acting on specific intelligence, SFs raided a meeting of top NSCN-K and NNC cadres being held in Nonei Part-V in Tamenglong District leading to the arrest of 'sergeant' M Ading Rongmei (37) of NSCN-K and Paujokdai Malangmei alias Jenchui (38) of NNC. One 7.65 mm pistol with 10 rounds, one .22 pistol with five rounds, one 7.65 SLR magazine with 10 rounds and five mobile phones were recovered from the arrestees.

NSCN-K has observed that Arunachal Nagas now did not want to identify themselves as Nagas and has condemned the wisdom of their leaders in the strongest terms for the current state of affairs. In a statement, NSCN-K reminded that the tribes inhabiting Arunachal's Tirap, Changlang and Longding Districts like Nocte, Wancho, Ollo, Tangsa, Tutsa and their subdivision into smaller groups residing on both sides of the international border formed the largest and biggest group among the Nagas of Eastern Nagaland. These tribes had played significant role in Naga political movement. However, due to vested interests, they do not now want to associate with the Nagas, it said.

A two-day 'national assembly' of the NSCN-K began at its designated camp, Khehoi in Dimapur of Dimapur District.

A gunbattle ensued between NSCN-IM and combined rebels of NSCN-K and ZUF in Oinamlong village in Tamenglong District.

A committee of the ruling DAN met a team of the NSCN-KK to push forward the ongoing reconciliation process between Naga militant groups. The committee will next meet the NSCN-K, followed by the NSCN-IM, the NNC and the FGN.

NSCN-K has withdrawn assignments of its five members, who were assigned to collect "national subscribe taxes", for 'not working honestly' and failing to submit 5 percent 'tax' and 'business tax' during 2013. In a press release, NSCN-K 'deputy kilonser' (minister) A. Langkhuh Konyak stated that withdrawal Azha (order) came into immediate effect in all four Districts of ENPO areas i.e Mon, Tuensang, Kiphire and Longleng with regard to "Naga National subscribe taxes."

A NSCN-K cadre, Wangdon Wangpan, surrendered before the Police and District administration in Longding District. He joined the outfit in 2010.

NSCN-KK has reiterated its demand for the release of all its members held under National Security Act (NSA) for possession of arms. NSCN-KK, in a statement also alleged that one "Isak Sumi belonging to the Khaplang group" (NSCN-K) has been responsible for "master-minding" incidents of violence in Dimapur, Kohima and Zunheboto Districts. They said number of incidents had taken place in Dimapur, Kohima and Zunheboto where people and business establishments were "threatened with death and bomb threats."

NSCN-K has informed that "all kinds of taxation" have been "banned in Naga country", "till further order comes into effect probably in the month of March, 2014". In a press release, it said "the decision in this regard came into force following the Azha (order) of the council".

Former NSCN-K 'kilonser (minister)' Kughalu Mulatonu along with 'colonel' Vikato and 'Zunheboto town commander' 'Major' Heikhu and three cadres have arrived at Khehoi camp in Dimapur District of the NSCN-KK in a bid to join the outfit. However, he said the NSCN-KK was yet to take a formal decision, since its high ranking leaders were yet to sit down and discuss about the development.

SS Khaplang 'president' of NSCN-K inducted S.Hrepuni Vemai into the formation's 'council of kilonsers' [council of ministers] as a 'cabinet kilonser' on February 6, 2014.

Two NSCN-K cadres joined NSCN-KK along with arms and ammunition. The two cadres were identified as 'Major guard commander' Rekum of Yimchungru region and 'captain' Chuba of the same region joined its fold with one G3, one M 14 and one 303.

Arunachal Pradesh

An NSCN-K source claimed that one of its cadres was shot dead in Arunachal Pradesh during an encounter with the Assam Rifles. The place of the incidence was however not specified.

Kohima

A cadre of NSCN-KK was reportedly injured in a firing incident that took place between NSCN-K and NSCN-KK near the High Court area, Kohima District. Police also recovered one .32 live round from the spot.

Assam Rifles arrested one NSCN-K cadre, identified as Wilson H Chishi, 'regional secretary' of Sumi Region in Zunheboto (District) town and seized one pistol and some other documents from his possession.

ULFA-I 'commander in chief' Paresh Barua has expressed his gratitude to NSCN-K, CorCom of Manipur, KLO, NDFB and other "brotherly organizations" for their cooperation and help extended to the ULFA over the years.On the occasion of its 'army day,' (March 16) the ULFA 'commander-in-chief' has called upon senior leaders of the outfit "not to encourage in negative thinking and instead try to boost the morale of the cadres who are fighting the enemy valiantly in the field."

31 Assam Rifles arrested one NSCN-K cadre, identified as 'lieutenant' Imtimeren at Phom basti, Changtongya in Dimapur District. The troops also recovered one pistol, 12 bore gun and ammunition from his possession.

Representatives of NSCN-K, ULFA-I, NDFB-IKS and the Manipur-based PLA will participate in the deliberations for creation of an umbrella organisation in Taga of Sagaing division in north-western Myanmar on March 20. The meeting is likely to be convened by NSCN-K 'chairman' S.S. Khaplang, an influential leader in parts of northern Myanmar. However, it is going to be ULFA-I 'commander-in-chief' Paresh Baruah who will be the main operator in the group.

CFMG has issued security instructions to all NSCN factions in view of the ensuing Lok Sabha (Lower House of Indian Parliament) election. In a communiqué addressed to all the NSCN factions, CFMG chairman Lieutenant General (retd.) N.K. Singh said with the announcement of 16th Lok Sabha elections to be conducted from April 7 to May 12 across the country and on April 9 in Nagaland, all District administrations have been issued instructions that no one other than Security Forces would carry any fire arms so as to ensure peaceful polls. Therefore, all factions of NSCN have been asked to conform to the instructions with the essential objective of ensuring peaceful polls, said Singh.

NSCN-K, Sumi region, has refuted the claim of AR arresting two of cadres on March 12, saying it was "false and far from truth."

19th Assam Rifles (AR) personnel arrested a person, identified as Mhasibeituo (20), from T Khel Market in Kohima town (Kohima District) for extorting money in the name of NSCN-K.

Security Forces arrested 'Sergeant Major' of NSCN-K, identified as Gaikhonglung Kamei alias Khang and recovered one 9mm Pistol and five rounds at Nonei Bazaar in Tamenglong District.

NSCN-K and NSCN-IM cadres engaged in heavy gun battle at Akhoya village jurisdiction, in Mokokchung District. There are no reports of any casualties from either side.

NSCN-KK held a short programme in honour of "home coming members", which was led by Kilonser (minister) Kughalu Mulatonu and 'colonel' Vikato Sumi. Altogether, 22 members of the NSCN-K joined the NSCN-KK fold.

Troops of Red Shield Division arrested one cadre of NSCN-K. One 9mm Chinese pistol with magazine, four live rounds and two hand grenades were recovered.

SFs arrested one NSCN-K from Techa Colony, Mon District and recovered a .22 pistol with one magazine and five live rounds from the cadre.

NSCN-K militant, identified as Pongpa Konyak was arrested by 33 Assam Rifles on from Mon local ground in Mon District. Two .22 pistols along with a magazines were recovered from him.

Leaders of NSCN-K have left for New Delhi for talks on further extension of cease fire. The yearlong ceasefire between Centre and NSCN-K expired on April 27, but further talks on its extension have stalled. SS Khaplang, the leader of the group have deputed some of the functionaries to meet representatives of the Centre to sign the truce extension.

33 AR arrested one NSCN-K. 'central council member', Ganpong Konyak from Zakhlom Ward in Mon District AR in a release stated, though Konyak is a "yellow card holder" of NSCN-K, authorized only one weapon to be carried with his bodyguard, he was found to be in possession of .22 pistol with magazine (country made), one .22 pistol (country made) pen shaped, one .32 revolver (Made in England), four .32 live rounds and incriminating documents.

GoI and NSCN-K have extended cease fire agreement. The agreement was signed by Shambhu Singhjoint secretary (MHA-NE) and Y. Wangtin Naga.

Angami Youth Organization (AYO) and Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) have decided to impose a "blanket ban" on all the activities of NSCN-K, particularly its financial activities AYO and CYF asked all the Angami villages not to entertain any form of taxation by NSCN-K and cautioned all government establishments, institutions, contractors, corporate, public and private individual business owners against contributing any form of "tax and percentages"

Cachar Police suspects the involvement of NSCN-K behind the incident when an IED, 35 gelignite sticks caches of nitroglycerin and nitrocellulose and 20 powerful detonators were recovered a bus on May 1 at Sibtilla in Cachar District. According to some Police Sources the NSCN-K was involved in the incident.

NSCN-K has requested business communities and departments to clear all kinds of "national subscribe taxes due" to NSCN-K present 'finance in-charge' kilonser (minister) Starson.

Two cadres identified as Mhonthung Lotha and "2nd lieutenant" Renbi Lotha of NSCN-K were arrested by SF near Baghty village in Wokha District. A .22 Pistol along with one magazine were also recovered from them.

NSCN-K 'president', S.S. Khaplang has suspended 'finance secretary' Zeramo from the outfit for a year. In a suspension Ahza (order) NSCN-K Khaplang stated that suspension was been done keeping in view his failure to respond to the continuous efforts to report to the headquarters and has been found guilty of misusing his power, and function and misappropriation of a huge amount of money.

Two militants, identified as Lima Akhham and Takaitaba Ao belonging to NSCN-K were arrested from Phom Colony, Changtongya in Mokokchung District.One country made Muzzle Loading Rifle and incriminating documents was recovered from them.

NSCN-K militant, identified as Beduzo Venuh was arrested by SFs in Phek District. One 9 mm Pistol with magazine and three live rounds were recovered from him.

An extortionist, identified as Vishika Yepthomi alias Vika at Notun Basti in Dimapur. He was found threatening a non-local businessman and demanding INR 10,000 in the name of NSCN-K.

NSCN-K, USR, stated that that all employees, contractors and business establishments under Kiphire District and Longkhim/Chare Area in Tuensang District are not allowed to deal with the taxation matter for the fiscal year 2014-15 without the knowledge of the region 'chairman'.

NSCN-K has denied sending any SMS threat to ACAUT member Abe Mero.

Senapati District

Two NSCN-K militants Joseph Rapei and Francis Sajii were arrested following a brief encounter by 43 Assam Rifles in Senapati District. One 9mm pistol, one magazine and three live rounds of the arm and extortion money of INR 1490 in cash and vehicle in which they were travelling were recovered.

Two blank letter heads of NSCN-K were recovered from a dead body, identified as Dariilou from a place near ADC office in Senapati District.

Residents of Phek town 'arrested' a militant of NSCN-K identified as 'captain' Ape Kozo after they were informed about holding back of goods carrying truck for "extortion "and handed him over to Police. PTYS GS stated that two NSCN-K cadres identified as 'captain' Ape Koza and '2nd lieutenant' Kuveshevo held a truck heading for Dimapur for purpose of extortion.

Mangkolemba/ Mokokchung

MSDCCU stated that that they received a 'tax' demand letter from NSCN-K for INR 50,000 from each coal contractor in Mangkolemba sub-division.

NSCN-K'Lieutenant General' Niki Sumi has blamed the State Government agencies, "especially the police and bureaucracy" for victimizing "hundreds of NSCN workers".

Mon Town/ Mon

Militant identified as 'sergeant' Manki Konyak belonging to the NSCN-K was arrested from Jail Colony in Mon Town of Mon District by SFs. One AK rifle, one 12 Bore Rifle, one Pistol and huge quantity of ammunition were recovered from him.

Myanmar-based NSCN-K has sought Statehood for the Naga people in Myanmar. According to a source, the outfit has already submitted a proposal for statehood to the Union Government of Myanmar. The NSCN-K signed a bilateral ceasefire with the Myanmar Government in May 2012 after signing of a ceasefire agreement, the Myanmar Government has granted the Nagas self-administrative autonomy.

SFs arrested 'sergeant major' Horiba Sangtam of NSCN-K from General Area of Longkokre Village in Kiphire District and recovered .22 rifle with magazine, six live rounds and two hand grenades.

NSCN-K has decided that any kind of 'taxation' under Pungro and Shamator Division of Yimchungrü District is authorized only to the Yimchungrü Regional authority of NSCN-K

NSCN-K militant identified as 'corporal' Hepwang Konyak was arrested at Project Colony in Zunheboto District. One 9 mm Pistol Beretta with magazine, four live rounds and three mobile phones were also recovered from him.

Naga leaders in Myanmar have severely criticised NSCN-K's demand for sovereignty of Nagaland, comprising the Naga-inhabited areas of India and Myanmar.

S Hrripunii Vemai who was appointed by SS Khaplang of NSCN-K as the 'kilonser' of the Shepoumaramth region has appealed to people not to get confused about his official appointment which is not a self proclamation as alleged by unknown person.

One 7.65 mm pistol along with two magazines, one 7.65mm Pistol along with two magazines, one .22 Pistol along with one magazine, 22 live rounds of 7.65mm, one bullet proof patka, one bullet proof jacket, extortion notes and one discharge order of 'Lieutenant' Nagaha were recovered from them.

ACVA Wokha District expressed dismay with NSCN-K for its 'tax' collection.

NSCN-K terminated one of its cadre, a Raju Peyu identified as Ihoto Yeptho who was 'arrested' by locals on June 20 from Old Town locality in Zunheboto District while extorting money.

Nine NSCN-K militants have joined NSCN-KK

A female militant of NSCN-K who was forcibly picked up by NSCN-K with two other girls in 2010 and trained in NSCN-K camp in Myanmar, surrendered before the Changlang Police.

Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju stated that "With ULFA and NSCN we need a little more time to bring them on board and find a solution."

NSCN-IM through its secretary, ministry of mines and minerals Ng.Jacob rejected giving "prospecting license" to MOGPL.

Manipur Home minister Gaikhangam further stated that the ceasefire agreement between GoI and NSCN-IM is applicable only in Nagaland.

Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam Gangmei stated that over 100 people have been killed byNSCN-IM since 1980.

NSCN-IM terminated 'corporal' T Imkong, reason being his involvement in a drunken altercation with an individual identified as T Sepenchu Sangtam.

NSCN-IM 'corporal' John Phoren Rangwa was injured in an encounter in Lapnan near Khonsa in Tirap District. One AK-47 rifle with 90 rounds and one .22 pistol were recovered from the site.

Formal talks between NSCN-IM and GoI have resumed in New Delhi. GoI representative is Ajit Lal and Th. Muivah is representing NSCN-IM .

In Cease Fire review meeting with NSCN-IM held after five months, the January 3 Pachaspura killing in which nine Karbis were killed by alleged NSCN-IM militants and tension in Ukhrul were discussed. NK Singh told the NSCN-IM representatives to hand over six accused of Pachaspura killing sheltering inside the NSCN-IM camp Hebron.

Deputy CM Giakhangam stated that more than four hundred criminal cases have been recorded in the Hill Districts, especially in Ukhrul after NSCN-IM signed the cease fire agreement with GoI.

NSCN-IM CFMC convenor Kraibo Chawang stated that the ceasefire agreement GoI and NSCN-IM was applicable "without territorial limit."

MNPF stated that Nagas, particularly who reside in Manipur, has been suffering for a long under GoI and NSCN-IM.

Old Market/Dimapur

Two NSCN-K militants Atoka Awomi and Lutoi Chophy were arrested while they were allegedly collecting illegal taxes from business establishments in Old Market, Dimapur. An illegal tax slip and INR 1500 were recovered from them.

Chinghulong/Imphal West

SFs arrested a NSCN-K militant '2^nd lieutenant Kalingong Pammei' from Chinghulong in Imphal West and recovered a 9mm pistol.

Phongkhuri

A militant of NSCN-KK was killed by NSCN-K at Phongkhuri village along the Indo-Myanmar border. An unnamed NSCN-K leader stated that NSCN-KK militants had attacked an NSCN-K 'post' at Phongkhuri, and the attack was a retaliation and added that three people were NSCN-KK militants were killed.

Aokum/Mokokchung

SFs busted an illegal weapon making facility in Aokum village in Mokokchung which was supplying weapons to various factions of NSCN.

Dimapur

In retaliation for the reported eviction of the family members of 'general' Nikki Sumi of NSCN-K by NSCN-KK , NSCN-K has directed all family members of NSCN-KK to vacate Dimapur within 24 hours of publication of the directive.

Dimapur

NNC appealed both NSCN-KK and NSCN-K to "withdraw the quit notice served to each other's family members immediately.

Diphupar/Dimapur

A grenade exploded inside the compound of NSCN-KK chaplee secretary Kideon Zhimomi's residence at Diphupar in Dimapur District injuring him, his six year old son, Kideon Zhimomi's guard and another person. NSCN-KK MIP Kilonser blamed NSCN-K for the attack.

NSCN-KK has asked the GoI to remove Suruhuto Camp in Zunhebotto District, of NSCN-K. It also stated through ministry of information and publicity (MIP) that they will remove the camp if GoI failed to do so.

State Home Minister Y. Patton stated on the quit notice issue between the NSCN-K and NSCN-KK, to both the groups to restrain themselves and urged them to settle the issues amicably as the State could not afford to damage the hard-earned peace due to "internal misadventures."

Chare/ Tuensang

NSCN-K militant identified as major' Yanpongse Sangtam was arrested by AR from Chare town in Tuensang. One 9 mm pistol with magazine, five 9 mm live ammunition and letter pad in the name of 'Government of People Republic of Nagaland' was recovered from him.

NSCN-K claimed the responsibility for destroying road construction machineries on November 2 at Nungsai village in Tamenglong.

AR arrested six unidentified militants of NSCN-K from Naginimora in Mon. They were arrested on charges of extortion, from, Oting and Naginimora under Mon District. Two country-made pistols with ammunition along with some incriminating items were recovered from them.

A truck driver, identified as L Inao, was abducted from Ukha in Kohima by NSCN-K militants.

NSCN-K militant Nokjem Konyak was killed and another unidentified militant injured in an encounter with the Army at Namtola near Sonari in Sivasagar.

Kohima City Police mobile unit after getting a tip off some miscreants demanding money from shopkeepers of Fancy Market in Kohima, arrested an individual Vibulie Kimho from the market. On frisking him, the Police recovered 12 information slips issued by ministry of chaplee (finance) affairs, of the Khaplang faction of NSCN-K. He is reportedly a deserter of Indian Army.

ACAUT has condemned the bomb attack. ACAUT media cell stated that NPGs know too well that throwing grenades and crude bombs to maximize carnage and create fear psychosis is a terror activity and any factions indulging in such tragic episodes can be labelled as terrorist organization. Eight militants of NSCN-KK have reportedly joined the NSCN-K.

SFs arrested a NSCN cadre, 'chapel' Ibeto Sema, along with one .32 pistol with magazine and eight live rounds, at BOC South point in Zunheboto town of Zunheboto District.
