On September 22, Police arrested 10 members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) for allegedly making efforts to foment communal strife throughout the state, reports ANI. The arrested leaders were identified as, Aminul Hoque, Abdul Razzak, Robiul Hussain, Nazrul Islam Bhuyan, Rafiqul Islam,Abu Sama Ahmed, Farhad Ali, Khalilur Rahman, Mufti Rahmatullah and Bazlul Karim. They were booked under sections 120(B), 124(A), 153(A) and 353 of IPC. The raids took place at Guwahati (Kamrup Metro), Nagarbera (Kamrup District), Samaguri (Nagaon District), Barpeta, Karimganj and Baksa, adds Hindustan Times.
