A suicide attack in the funeral ceremony of Shaikh Akram, a former commander of Public Uprising Forces, kills at least 24 civilians in Shewa District of Nangarhar Province in Afghanistan on May 12, report The Khaama Press. Abdullah Malikzai, a member of the Nangarhar Provincial Council, also lost his life in the attack. The Taliban in a statement said the group is not behind the attack.68 civilians were injured in the incident.
