Police recovered 5.66 kilograms of heroin near the Zero Line in Khemkaran town in Tarn Taran District of Punjab on July 3, reports The Tribune. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Kamaljit Singh Aulakh said, the Police personnel acted on a tip-off and confiscated three plastic bottles buried under the soil near the Border Security Force (BSF) pillar no. 160-161 in the said locality. The DSP also said the contraband was hidden by Pakistan-based smugglers and their Indian associates would be identified soon.
