The Army foiled an infiltration attempt by armed militants along the Line of Control (LoC) in Macchil sector in Kupwara District of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) in India on July 31, reports Daily Excelsior. Srinagar based Defence Spokesman, Colonel Rajesh Kalia said alert troops noticed suspicious movement 600 metres into the Indian side along the LoC in Kupwara District around 3 am, and were challenged which led to an encounter. There were no reports of any casualties, however, three AK rifles, a sniper rifle, eight grenades and other war-like stores were seized from the scene of the gun battle.
