The Afghan Special Forces (ASF) killed six militants were killed during a rescue operation carried out in northern Balkh province of Afghanistan on February 25, reports The Khaama Press. The ASFs rescued at least ten persons from a Taliban-run prison in the province. The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North in a statement said that the operation was conducted in the vicinity of Koh Alburz area of Chimtal District. The statement further added that six militants were killed during the operation and ten persons who were kept as prisoners were also released.
Meanwhile, the 209th Shaheen Corps said the ASFs conducted an operation in Joi Sher area of Chimtal District at around 12:30am local time which resulted into the killing of three Taliban militants on February 25, reports The Khaama Press. At least three more militants were injured and three motorcycle were destroyed during the same operations, the 209th Shaheen Corps added in its statement.
