The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel belonging to the 136th Battalion recovered six packets of heroin, weighing 6.5 kilograms worth INR 320 million in the international market, near International Border (IB) outpost in Shamas area in Ferozepur sector of Ferozepur District in Punjab on September 29, reports The Tribune. According to BSF, the border guarding troops observed some suspicious movement ahead of the barbed wire fencing near the said area following which they sounded an alert. Later, a search operation was carried out during which the contraband was recovered.
