The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel recovered four kilograms of contraband suspected to be heroin from International Border (IB) in Abohar Sector in Fazilka District of Punjab on March 8, reports United News of India. According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Frontiers Headquarters of the BSF, troops of the 124th Battalion in Abohar Sector got alerted after they could hear some suspicious sound near the border. To stop misadventure of the smugglers, the troops challenged them. But the smugglers continued to advance towards the border security fence following which the troops opened fire. The smugglers managed to flee towards the Pakistan Territory taking advantage of darkness and undulating ground and leaving behind the contraband.
