The 136th Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) recovered 2 kilograms heroin worth INR 100 million near the Shame Ke border outpost along India-Pakistan border in Ferozepur District of Punjab on May 24, reports The Tribune. As per the sources, the consignment was being smuggled through the water channel with the help of two plastic bottles concealed in water hyacinth.
Separately, the BSF troopers recovered more than six kilograms heroin from Abohar and Ferozepur sectors near the international border in Punjab on May 23, reports United News of India. The BSF Deputy Director General and Spokesman, Bhaskar Singh Rawat said that BSF seized 5.56 kilograms heroin from near the border outpost in the Abohar sector in Fazilka District. Similarly, the BSF had recovered one-kilogram heroin from the border at the Ferozepur sector in Ferozepur District.
