The Police on September 21, arrested a man for suspected blasphemy changes in Shaheed Bazar area of Prang tehsil (revenue unit) of Charsadda District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), reports The Express Tribune. Locals told the Police that the suspect had allegedly used derogatory language against Prophet Muhammad, in front of scores of people. Few years ago, a brother of the suspect had been killed by unidentified armed people over a similar accusation.
Meanwhile, the KP Police Inspector General (IG,) Sanaullah Abbasi on September 19, directed the Buner District Police to devise a strategy in consultation with intelligence agencies for taking strict action against militants in the region, reports The Express Tribune. Abbasi issued these directives during his visit to Buner District. The IG presided over a meeting of the Buner District Police and reviewed the cases filed against suspects involved in terrorism. Abbasi directed the Police to keep an eye on the militants’ activities in the District.
