A 40-year-old villager was thrashed and stabbed before being shot dead by alleged Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres suspecting him to be ‘police informer’ in Lanji area in Balaghat District of Madhya Pradesh on June 19, reports The Times of India. The victim has been identified as Brajlal Munda, resident of Pikona village. Police said he was dragged outside his house by the member of Malajkhand Dalam (armed squad). They first thrashed him and then inflicted multiple stab injuries accusing him of passing information to Police. He was shot dead after being tortured for an hour, said sources.
