A joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Giridih District Police recovered and defused a 10 kilograms Improvised Explosive Device (IED) allegedly planted by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) under a culvert between Kulhi and Borwapani under Nimiyaghat Police Station limits in Giridih District of Jharkhand on May 26, reports The Telegraph. Maoists had planted an IED under the culvert aimed at blowing it up when the Security Forces (SFs) moved through the road towards polling centers to conduct the Panchayat (village level local self-Government institution) polls on May 27, said Giridih, Superintendent of Police (SP), Amit Renu.
