Eleven Naxalites [Left Wing Extremists, LWEs], one of them carrying a cash reward of INR 100,000 on her head, surrendered in Dantewada District of Chhattisgarh on July 28, reports The Pioneer. Dantewada, Superintendent of Police (SP), Abhishek Pallava, said, the cadres, who were with the Malangir ‘area committee’, gave themselves up at the Kirandul Police Station, citing their disappointment with the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) ideology. Of the 11, Rambati Barse (24), carrying a reward of INR 100,000 on her head, was a Krantikari Adivasi Mahila Sangathan (KAMS) ‘president’ of the CPI-Maoist, while, the others were associated with the outlawed Communist Party of India-Marxist-Leninist (CPI-ML)'s frontal wings. The identities of the other surrenderees are yet to be ascertained. The Maoists were given an immediate assistance of INR 10,000 each and will get facilities as per the Government’s surrender and rehabilitation policy, SP, Pallava added.
