An encounter broke out between a joint party of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and District Reserve Guards (DRG) personnel and cadres of the Amadai Area Committee of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) at Palli Barsoor Road in the forest area of Chote Burgum in Narayanpur District of Chhattisgarh on March 24, reports etvbharat.com. Maoists fled the area taking advantage of forest cover. During a search operation in the area, the Security Forces (SFs) recovered two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) which were later neutralised at the spot. However, there was no casualties to the SFs.
At least 16 cadres of the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) including two women surrendered in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh on March 24, reports The Print. Many of the armed Maoists who made surrender were carrying bounty on their head varying from INR 800,000 to INR 500,000 each and were identified as Chintagufa and Polampalli Tongpal residents who were active in different Police Station areas of the region.
