A joint team of Border Security Force (BSF) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) unearthed a huge cache of explosives stored by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres in Machkund forest along Koraput-Malkangiri border in Koraput District on October 18, reports The New Indian Express. Based on intelligence inputs about presence of around 20 Maoists in Machkund forest, personnel of DVF of Koraput and BSF in Anukadeli launched a coming operation in the area. Noticing the Security Forces (SFs), the Maoists fled leaving their belongings. On search, the SF personnel recovered Maoist materials which included slurry and emulsion explosives, gelatin, camera flash, wire, splinters and Naxal [Left Wing Extremism, LWE] literature from the spot.
