Levies Force personnel recovered five polio workers hours after they were kidnapped on the outskirts of Kohlu town (Kohlu District) of Balochistan on September 21, reports Dawn. Security officials said Sher Ali, Abdul Khaliq, Qurban Ali, Karam Khan and Humayun Khan had been kidnapped by armed men when they were administering polio vaccine drops to children on the outskirts of Kohlu town. Soon after receiving information about the incident, personnel of the Levies Force launched a search operation and recovered the them from a place near Kohlu town. No further details were immediately available.
Separately, military operations have been launched reportedly by Army in Awaran, Gichk and Mashkay areas of Awaran District in Balochistan, on September 21, reports The Balochistan Post. During the operation several civilians were forcibly disappeared allegedly by Army personnel. Many civilian houses, crops and other belongings were set on fire.
