Five Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres, identified as Kamlu Oyam (23), Manish Kalmu (26), Bijja alias Bija Kadti (47) and Kopa Oyami (47), were arrested from separate places in Bijapur District of Chhattisgarh on September 9, reports The Pioneer. Three of them were arrested from a forest between Kader and Japeli villages and two in the forests of Munder village, Bijapur, Superintendent of Police (SP), Kamlochan Kashyap said, adding that Kadti was involved in killing a former Sarpanch (head of the Panchayat, village-level local self-Government institution) in 2008 in Talnar village, while Oyami was wanted in connection with the murder of a civilian in 2007 in Phulgatta village in Bijapur.
