Around five Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) cadres were injured in an encounter ensued with the Gadchiroli Police in the Yeldadmi forest area under Etapalli tehsil (revenue unit) in Gadchiroli District of Maharashtra on August 20, reports The Indian Express. A rife, blasting material, bags and several items of personal use were recovered from the site, Police said, adding that the Maoists had set up a camp in the forest. “About 4-5 Naxalites [Left Wing Extremists, LWEs] were apparently injured in the encounter,” the Police said in a statement.
