On November 19, Colombo Magistrate's Court has remanded former Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and suspended IGP Pujith Jayasundara till December 3, reports Colombo Page. The two former top officials were remanded on the charges of criminal negligence and murder due to their failure to prevent Easter bomb attacks despite prior information. The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) had revealed to the court though the two accused had no connections with the Easter attack suspects, yet more investigations were required to review the financial transactions of the duo. After considering the submissions, the magistrate ordered that the suspects be remanded until the 3rd of next month and the CID was ordered to submit a report on the progress of the investigations on that day.
